Hi! I am actually the dev of this game here on my personal youtube account 😄 As you may have guessed, the game itself is very very early in development, I've been solo creating it on and off for around 8 months, there are many missing features, and the command parser is quite primitive, but that's how it goes very early in development. Some npcs in the book that say they do not fight back, i had them fight back simply for testing purposes while developing combat, these things definitely will change. As for the hidden chambers, the path towards them is always invisible, definitely work to be done there, I realized I should do one of two things with secret entrances: Once the secret room is discovered, it should make the path to it appended to the current paths, instead of the name of the path always being invisible Standardize secret path names to always have the same value i.e. "forward" or "inside" as it stands on the version you have played, type "go forward" to access it. In terms of permission of using the art, it's a fan game that I do no plan on selling for any money, but I have tried to get in contact with plastiboo about the fan game to see what they think, and have yet to get a response. If yall have any questions, feel free to ask the questions on the reddit thread here, or reply directly to this comment www.reddit.com/r/osr/comments/1eegb3b/i_created_a_textbased_adventure_game_based_off_of/

I really hope you continue working on this. I personally don’t have experience with game development but I would help if there was a way I could. (Lmk) (I have worked in a hobby capacity on 16 bit dither art so I really appreciate the artwork and style) I also really hope you can contact and be in touch with the author. It would be great if you got his full support that way he could help or at least give you assets he used. This is a very cool project. Already liking the soundtrack as well. Very passionate about this kind of stuff. Thank you for starting working on something I already thought would be an awesome idea.

This game made me feel depressed and tired as it went on. If that’s not a win, I don’t know what is. It FELT like the exact game that the book was describing. If plastiboo doesn’t collaborate with you, they’re damned fools.

My childhood was full of these creepy exploration games, both totally text-based like Zork and various M.U.D.s, and combination with images like from Sierra or SSI / TSR AD&D computer games. This one looks really cool! I think I'll wait until it's further in development though.

The lonely knight isnt supposed to fight back. According to the guide, he is harmless EVEN IF provoked. Not sure why the dev decided to change this since its practically the first chance you have to use the game guide to inform your decision in the game. Also choosing to not have him drop the loot that the guide says he drops is an interesting omission.
