Baba Yaga is an ambiguous character in Russian and Slavic lore. In some tales, she is the villain, other tales, she is the helper. And in this film, she appears as both, which is a good testament to the original lore. She initially appears to be wicked, but turns out to be good. She is really well written.
Baba Yaga is actually considered a neutral entity in Russian folklore. It all depends on her disposition if she'll help you or keep you as an eternal slave or eat you for supper. Right?
A witch's life is very solitary No one around to talk to but trees So many years of never making merry But I can feel a change in the breeze 'Cause tonight there's no one in the hallway No one left or right But my hallways all say Someone's in my house tonight! No one by my fire No one sipping tea My fire's burning higher Someone's in my house with me!! Witches are people with a magic intuition And she's having a feeling that is oh so bewitching Even though no one's hanging around in the kitchen We know that someone is near Dear! No one in the attic No one in my chair But I'm so emphatic Someone's in my house somewhere! Where is he Where is he Where are you? You wouldn't desert me You know it would hurt me Where are you Where is he Where is he Little no one you're through! No one in the mirror No one by the door! But I'm getting clearer Someone's in my house for sure! No one small or dumb No! No one pink and white Hey! No one here I come! 'Cause! Someone's In My House Someone's In Her House And no one's getting out Tonight!
If Prince Ivan was a kid, so this would take place before Anastasia was born, and Bartok wasn't in Rasputin's employ. Then the Revolution never happened in Russia yet So Bartok is (kinda) a fallen hero by this logic
Andrea sure knows how to do a showstopper! I'm actually here because she is playing Prudy Pingelton in NBC's Hairspray LIVE this December. PS, Bartok's comedy may be old school but still has the charm even if I was scared by Anastasia as a kid.
I Smell a Rrrat... You wouldn't desert me You know it would hurt me Where are you Where is he Where is he Little no one you're through! BOO! No one in the mirror No one by the door! But I'm getting clearer Someone's in my house for sure! No one small or dumb No! No one pink and white Hey! No one here I come! 'Cause! Someone's In My House Someone's In Her House And no one's getting out Tonight!
My mum and sister says this is my theme song. Because i'm antisocial and hate when company comes over. I have no desire to argue with them because its true.
Someone once commented about this song kinda sounding like "Friend Like Me." To me, it sounds like a mixture of that song and "Poor Unfortunate Souls."
No one in the attic no one in my chair but I'm so emphatic someone's in my house somewhere! Where are you? (Items: Where is he? where is he?) You wouldn't desert me, you know it would hurt me! Where are you? (Items: where is he? where is he?) Little no-one you're through!
No one in the attic no one in my chair, but I'm so emphatic Someone's in my house somewhere! Where are you (items: Where is he? Where is he?) You wouldn't desert me, you know it would hurt me! Where are you? (Items: Where is he? Where is he?) Litte no-one you're through!
I feel bad for her cause in some way she just trying to live her life and do magic but some see it as dangerous while others see it as helpful especially after it leaves her home and it more potent cause in a way she locked herself up to keep everyone safe
So does this technically mean Bartok had two villain songs? We have the song from Ludmilla but we have this song which has very creepy undertones and Baba Yaga was portrayed as the antagonist until she cried when Bartok insulted her and reveals that she never took the Prince.
No one In the mirror No one by the door but I'm getting clearer Someone's in my house for sure! No one small and dumb No one pink and white no one (here I come) Someone's in my house (Someone's in her house) And no one's getting out toooniiiight!
I couldn't stop laughing then i was watching this movie in my childhood. You have soooo funny and soooo wrong opinion about my motherland =) By the way: Baba YagA (not YAga!!!) lives in a small wooden house which walks on two huge chicken legs (why the house in movie is so big and has the floor made of stone?). But I LOVE this song =) Sorry my English.
Baba Yaga is a tough character to pin down. At least they got the trappings right (The hut on giant chicken legs, the flying mortar and pestle)...but the real Baba is a little bit more evil...though she'll repay favors, she eats disobedient little children, so you have to be careful around her.
@animecyco007 It also pays tribute to first Anastasia film... Anastasia film: "She's dead -" Bartok film: (on jar) "Dead Bats -" Both: "DEAD. DEAD. DEAD..."
Baba: Who is in my house? I smell a rat! A witch's life is very solitary no one around to talk to but trees So many years of never making merry, but I can feel a change in the breeze! Cause tonight there's No one in the hallway no one left or right but my hallways all say someone's in my house tonight!
If this movie was the prequel, how did Bartok go from saving the Zaur to destroying the Zaur family with Rasputin. In fact, I think the prince in this film if a young version of Anastasia's father.
Bartok is very magical. As the Prince is Ivan Romanov and the film on Wikipedia says it is Ivan Romanov who was born in 1560s. And Anastasia's father is Nikolai II Alexandrovich Romanov who was born in 1868. Anastasia herself was born in 1901. So Bartok is very magical bat to live for more than 300 years. Sometimes you got to switch up your allegiances if you live that long.
No one by my fire, No one sippin' tea My fire's burnin' higher Someone's in my house with me! (enchanted objects in Baba Yaga's Hut): Witches are people with a magic intuition, and she's got a feeling that's o so bewitchin Even though no one's hangin around in the kitchen, Baba: We know that somebody's here, dear!
well if you do, tell me where, or at least get sum1 to upload the part with the song where the queen turns into a dragon or apprentice or whatever the role was
