i had no idea till the other day i was watching his RE3 vids n seen his mom call him dont really like personally watching lets plays all that much even tho i enjoy mark as person its weird cause even tho i dont watch a crap ton of his content based on what it is iv been a fan of his for a long time so coming to that realization that he is Asian kind of blows my mind

And besides, at best it’s outdated public information that everyone already knows or that Mark has shared before- albeit organized in a very weird way- or even info that is purely fiction like how he mistook his mom for a nurse holding the camera in the hospital. If it was something he snooped around and found out that Mark didn’t want the public to know, that’s where confidentiality comes into play. Mark’s a cool dude, anyway, so while he’s probably annoyed (he only said it would be weird if he put a link to it on the video), it’s probably not that much. There’d be no point in Mark doing anything anyway, because if the author watches this video, he might be too ashamed of the mistakes to even keep the book up there. Being critiqued by the person you’re writing about can do that.

You're allowed to use people's real names and identities in books, provided it's not libel (unless you go full-on Onion and make it so outlandish that it could be considered parody). Normally it can't be defamatory, either, but, as Mark is a public figure at this point, the author could argue in court that there is an "overriding public interest", which means negative things about Mark, if they can be proven true, is knowledge that the public would want to know. What might not be legal is his use of Mark's face and name on the front cover, as that might infringe on Marks right to publicity. Mark owns his image and his name, so using them as a selling point on the front of the book might be considered advertising, in which case Mark would have a case.

Well he doesn't have to have the money go to himself it could instead be sent to a charity of his choice.

All a writer has to do to cover their bases is say that the book isn’t necessarily factual or it’s based on a true story. Just like how you can accuse someone of anything as long as you add words like alleged or better yet don’t use their actual name. Basically, you have ‘free speech’ and ‘free use’ as long as you don’t make direct accusations or threats against a named individual/organization. You also shouldn’t imply the subject endorses x or y viewpoints (without written permission), but people usually get away with that kind of slander, sadly.
