Somerville REVIEW - Why its a MUST PLAY - Xbox, Steam & Game Pass
In this video we review Somerville - the highly anticipated release from debut indie studio Jumpship, the new studio from ex Playdead co-founder Dino Patti, and equally incredible talent & lead dev of Somerville - Chris Olsen.
This review is kept spoiler free, and any footage shown is either from the first part of the game or kept to brief brief segments, to avoid spoilers. We avoid all discussion of anything spoiler related too. All Somerville Gameplay in this video captured on PC via the Game Pass version of the game.
In this Somerville review - I am joined by my indie games podcast co-host Luke, for a new style of video on the channel - a dual perspective review - where we both give our thoughts on the game, and give a more broad perspective of what you can expect from the game, if you check it out yourself. Be sure to let us know your thoughts on this style of video, as we'd love to know your feedback.
Somerville is a game we had both been eagerly anticipating for a good few years as we are both massive fans of Inside by Playdead, and due to this and all the incredible footage shown so far, it was easily one of our most anticipated indie games of 2022.
Somerville is available now on Xbox and PC via Steam, and also is available on both Xbox and PC via Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.

Watched this again in the morning with fresh eyes and you and Luke did great job with this one. Hard to talk about all the points without spoiling the fun for others. You guys were fair on the game. Do hope that many will check this game out.

We tried to be fair as poss, we both felt a little differently, but hopefully that gives a rounded perspective overall. I certainly absolutely loved the game, and was definitely one of my favourites this year, for sure! What was your thoughts on the game my friend?

@@TheIndieGamer I thought that the dual perspective was really good idea. You both had different views so worked well. I think what the game shined was that they did not take the easy way but took chances. It did not always work in the technical side, but I think they achieved impactful ending with this game.

And yeah, I feel a similar way about the game, but tbh, for me, the only thing bringing it down were a few bugs and slight technical issues, nothing major at all and can definitely be ironed out in patches - overall I had a blast with this game! 👌😊

I strongly suspect it will come to PS5. At the moment it’s just Xbox and PC, and they haven’t announced it yet, but I definitely reckon it will come to PlayStation some point down the line, perhaps within the next year or so I’d say. Thanks so much for watching, hope u enjoyed the video! 🙏😊
