Volo IS an ancestor to Cynthia, hence why they both have the same theme. The difference in Volo is a mixture between Cynthia's competence as a trainer and Cyrus desire to shape the world in his ideal image. Volo is the reason the events of Legends Arceus even occur to begin with.

The Volo battle is actually insane, as it’s the first battle to have EIGHT POKÉMON!!! His team of 6, and Giratina’s 2 forms, with NO break!

About the Paras thing is because of how they are aggressive to you no matter what you do, for no reason. And about Arceus having relevance in the story, it's not much but you can fight him after collecting all the Plates and caught every Pokémon in the game except Darkrai and Shaymin. Also finish the game, is worth it and you gonna cry a lot VS Volo you aren't well prepared for it :)

Yea Volo is possibly one of the hardest fights in the series. The man has 8 Pokémon, two of which are Giratina, you don’t get free switches like in most games, and you can challenge him without doing very much grinding at all so lots of people end up being under-levelled for his team.

A pattern in this game is that the characters in Legends Arceus are generally the opposite of their modern descendants. Volo is evil, Cynthia is good. Commander Kamado is a jerk, Professor Rowan is kind. There is a bandit named Clover, her descendant is the ice gym leader. One of the Wardens (I think it’s the warden for Liligant) is the ancestor of one of the Team Galactic admins. Captain Cyllene helps the player, her descendant is Cyrus and he leads Team Galactic But I will NEVER forgive Game Freak for making Ingo the Warden to Lady Sneasler (PUT HIM BACK IN UNOVA, GAME FREAK)

The sad thing is the rapidash didn’t terrorise me I just caught it as soon as possible and ended up with all level 14s and a lvl 45 rapidash early game ngl

Boy. You MUST finish this game to understand that yes, the protagonist has the power of bullshit, but Volo's bullshit doesn't stay behind. Volo has three phases, a regular battle, giratina in altered form and then giratina in origin form. ALL OF THAT AND YOUR POKÉMON DON'T GET HEALED IN BETWEEN THE PHASES. And if you lose is START ALL OVER AGAIN. Volo is consider as the hardest battle of the franchise.
