The people who made Looney Toons had a grasp on raw slapstick comedy that is so rare and difficult to create. I honestly feel like the TerminalMontage videos like this hit in the same way as that does, but in their own way. I like that when Robotnik offered to spare half of Sonic’s friends when he became king of the planet, Sonic had to run the deal by Tails to see if it was worth it first
