rare occasion to see someone who likes Something Corporate and twenty one pilots. I love both bands but for other people it seems to be an either or kinda deal
It's interesting that a song about murder is not too heavy for you! lol but I'd recommend Punk Rock Princess or I Want to Save You cause they're more straightforward than some of SoCo's other songs...that, of course, is only my opinion!
@AxelSayAnything I thought it said "the blood stains the carpet," after she kills him. To me it's definitely about an abused woman killing her husband. Despite that I love this song!!
@psychobillychef omg don't get me started. High school was so dumb. I like a shit ton of different music. Except country lol I used to get called a poser cause I wasn't just punk. Like why limit the music you listen to. Band shaming is ridiculous...
i love how this song is both beautiful and cryptic at the same time. who knew a band could write a song about a real life murder that actually happened and make it sound beautiful. that takes talent.
"A percussion instrument is a musical instrument that is sounded by being struck or scraped by a beater (including attached or enclosed beaters or rattles), or struck, scraped or rubbed by hand, or struck against another similar instrument." Thus, "...The piano is a percussion instrument..." Glad that came full circle.
If you type "me and the moon something corporate" into the search there should be a result of a video by mrcambo419 (it's the 3rd one down on my results). He explains it in that one.
@foreverending1432 oh really? :P well i'm not really from US or the Uk so i probably misheard that! Yeah i probably have find another meaning to a thousand more songs like all of us!
When you feel and understand this song. It's a sad troubled realization. Try so hard to make it as a perfect mom in the "suburbia shakedown" but it just isn't who you are. You are who you are and it comes out eventually. Ecspecially with two small toddlers as a single mom when you can't get one moment to yourself. And all you can think about is how much you hate him for putting you where you are. But thank God everyday for the daughter (and son) that he did give.
i always thought this song is about abortion! a girl that gets pregnant (the blood stays in the car) and the father abandons her! and she cant decide whether to keep the baby or not! it's like the baby sayin to her (i'm a butterfly but you wouldn't let me die) but andrew said its about a woman killing her husband! i guess that the great thing about music and lyrics, everyone see it through their own perspective!
It is sad that this is the only Something Corporate song I like. Love Jack's Mannequin, and wish I could get into more of Andrew's stuff. It's just a little too heavy for me. :\
