Thank you for feeding that poor baby. I feel so sad for this baby. All the others are held in warm loving embraces with warm milk to suckle and she reduced to wondering around forging trying to get gypsy's attention only to get bit and rejected
She is getting her belly full and I can tell she is getting sleepy. To bad she can't cuddle up with a mother. Thank you and God bless you for watching out for her.
It’s almost as if Gypsy has no feelings for her kids . No hugging or any love shown. So sad , but her mom’s rejection will make her stronger. Thanks Arroz.
They also nurture their young which has an element of affection. So to say they have no love is something no one can truly rate. It seems if they can have disdain, as Gypsy obviously has, then would it be a stretch to assume affection can be derived by caring. Ijs IMHO
Instinct.. for one Mom out of hundreds to display gross abusive acts, and sheer negligence? Then all Moms should be behaving as Gypsy. Instinct is one thing the variation in child care and rearing is another.
Chris Huber you do know you are also explaining human behavior as well. Except humans have more intellect to rationalize their behavior. Ultimately these monkeys level of mothering differs because of their intelligence. Moreover we are intrigued by watching them not because of how different they are, it's because of how similar they are to us. We watch because they are animals behaving like humans which keeps us glued to each post. After all they are also primates like us. Have a nice day😉
You are one sweet fellow, touched my heart when you gave her the food. She's a sweet stubborn little monkey, I really hope she gets through the winter ok.
@@pamking357 she was born in 2019. She's a bit undersized compared to most of the other babies from last year, probably due to being malnourished. Gypsy never fed her much.
All of Gypsys children have a certain lonesome sound in their cries that nust wrenches at my stomach. Her children are so hurt and so emotionally scarred.
@@JackG79 though as AM has said, they grew up to be pretty decent monkeys. I think he meams they play their part in the tribe well, respectful, not bad parents themselves
@@jtzoltan And I 100% agree with him. They grow up knowing that longing and constant Denile. I think that's what makes them such great parents. They don't want their babies to hurt like they did.
Oh Arroz you absolute hero!!! You gave sweet Kailey a sweet potatoe !!!! Gosh didnt she enjoy that... ate it all including the skin which some spit out..but not our lil Kailey she ate every little scrap.. bless her.. then i thought for a minute she might get a bit of milk from mom but no gypsy said no yet again..glad she took her back to the rest of the troop and the wonderful aunt Rudy !! I nearly didn't watch all the video as was so upset at the beginning with the wonderful music and Kailey putting up with Gypsys plucking of her hair..I'm sure Kailey was putting up with it just to have some contact with mom... oh poor Taggy that was Bossy's fault as she know all the girls will follow the Alpha so not to get out of her good books..taggy us harmless and kind. . I hope Bubby is a kinder Alpha but she can also be a little (well chubby) bully at times too. . I'm glad I stuck with the video as much happier now our lil one has had some food and is back with the troop and her aunties. Thank you Arroz. .yet again you've made my day with your videos . God bless you!! 💞🙉🙈🐵🙊🐒😀💝
If mum coddles her too much she'll fail to thrive. As harsh as it seems to us, it's the right thing for them both. Kailey is big capable enough to thrive on her own in time.
I think that's true for humans as well, the more some one is abusive toward you the more you want to be around them, because at least there paying attention to you.
Thanks Arroz, wish you could sneak her a cuddle as well. The unexpected loss of Mitty was hard. I thank you for your kindness to our gang and others as well.
@@janinedone2094 I wish I knew. Arroz simply states he has been missing for 3 months and listed him with the other deceased babies. Arroz did a video tribute to him. Very touching.
Gysp hopefully will not get breed this time around, she seems she just don't want to raise any more kids. Thank you for giving Kailey a goodie, she sure enjoyed it.
It’s amazing how Gypsy ignores all her children. Poor Kailey. She kind of gets around her and lets her presence be known by letting out a little squeak. Kailey will be better off in the long run. She has excellent survival skills. Smart little girl.
It's all about food for Kailey 15:27 she's not lost; she's building relationships. This has been her #1 means of survival; using her cute card to gain allies for when feeding time begins. 0:55 Kailey goes through the entire thing not only seemingly not affected, with zero parity between anything that could be considered a flinch and the pain level, her demeanor is so limp that her anticipation of the possibility of milk has her responding as if the plucking is deeply affectionate. However, as soon as it's made clear 1:46 that pluck isn't going to lead to milk, not only does her splayed out, vulnerable demeanor act go away, she finally responds how one would to the plucking in the first place, and bolts. Every one of these mother daughter relationships seems to be about the same thing; mom's quest for dominance and baby's quest for food. It's not about mom being hungry or out of milk or the baby wanting mom's affection, it's rank/food or to humans power/money.
Kailey has sisters that can care for her, though she's probably better off with one of the Rudys. Since they are higher ranking. Wonder what Taggy did to piss off SO many at one time??? Bossy was firece!!
I have to admit that watching sweet Kailey eat that potatoe, made me cry. I just have never felt so much for any of the other babies, even though I love them all. She breaks my heart, & the way I feel about Gypsy is not like me. Thank you, Arroz for checking on her. You will always be a hero for our tiny girl, & me.
They never cease to amaze me. Sometimes, against all odds, they grow, heal, survive. One thing you can say for ol' Gypsy, her kids survive. I've given up trying to make sense of her mothering. Krissy, Knotty, Knitty, Kneely, all look after Kailey, which is intriguing, considering their mother. Plucking, biting, ignoring. For whatever sad reason, Gypsy is Gypsy, she clearly can't help it. However, her offspring show attentive, comforting behaviors toward each other. Krissy cuddling and carrying little Kailey in the cold. I suspect Aunt Rudy taught them how to do it, er I mean the Aunt Rudys taught them. Hope you are well Dr M. We have to take care of ourselves in order to take care of the others. We're not doing so well here in Seattle.♡
@@temporarydarknessofthestri3258 I was referring to COVID-19 two years ago. As a soon to retire RN the pandemic is still wearing us out. Many nurses have quit the profession. Staffing is at an all time low. I live across the water from Seattle on Bainbridge Island. Seattle is beautiful, clean and unique. The weather, the trees, the sound, the mountains all exquisite. It really is an amazing place to live. I've traveled all over the states and Europe, and to me nothing compares to Seattle. ♡
The music Twinkle Twinkle little star had me in tears. I use to sing that to my son who passed away 2years ago. He was 9 years old. He had a rare syndrome called CHARGE Syndrome and had lots of medical issues. He was my monkey. Oh how I miss him.
The relationship these animals have to starches reminds me of my Irish family. Arriving with a fondness for potatoes, corn was the jackpot for them. Potatoes are a strong sustenance for them, and so they appreciate starches as sustaining, but they love sweet corn (starch with bigger flavor kick). These things would take over North America if they got loose here, just tearing into the limitless corn at will.
Poor Kailey, the price she has to pay for any attention from mum is just so sad. Regardless of how a mother treats her child, they still love their mum and want her approval and attention. It is sad to watch but Kailey will make it and she will be a strong and independent monkey. Hopefully she doesn't treat her babies this way but sadly, we parent how we learn and Kailey got the short end of the straw when it came to mothers. Thank you for giving her just a little treat and I was happy to see she had it mostly eaten when Gypsy came around or she likely would have had to forfeit the treat. I know when push comes to shove, Gypsy will protect Kailey but she doens't do it with any love but rather obligation. I know they are wild animals but some mother's genuinely show love to their babies and others do not. That cooing always breaks my heart.
Some mothers have a greater instinct for care than others and I think the lower the rank the less effort they make because their primary instinct is self preservation, even if it means their young won't survive. That's just being an animal. These babies cling to their mom because instinct tells them they are not safe on their own. I don't think would animals care about their mother's approval, that's human. And I see instinct at play, not love
Still sad over Mitty’s passing and seeing Kailey know how unwanted and mistreated she is by her useless mother, she cannot help but still seek her out...just heartbreaking 💔 Thank you, Arroz for giving Kailey that sweet potato and watching over her as she was by herself even if it was for a moment. I am so grateful for the love that you have for them - giving food to those needing it, checking up on them, and tributes to memories of the babies lost ❤️
The debate of nuture and nature (or perhaps ability to nature) is highlighted in these animals. The babies will be abused by mother but will cling insanely to her body relative to weaning. That's a pure illustration of instinct. Yet human children will not abandon an abusive parent. We've seen sub-adults tend to "abandoned" babies and cohort will wait to pick up a baby from mother's abuse. Where is it instinct and where is it... rational? People study the animals as a reflection of ourselves. When we are taken by cuteness surely that is an instinct... but we would feed the infant first if possible whereas the elder monkeys take food right out of their mouths. All fascinating... looking in the mirror of evolution.
Remember she cut her arm and her mom doctored it a little but she was tiny tiny it’s tints little sister TEENY. Remember? They somehow got separated teeny had to stay away from them after she are or they would take her food!!!
She loves her time with mum. Gipsey is so low ranking and had so little milk she has though kailey to survive well and she has her aunts. But a mothers love is a very special thing and we all crave it both humans and animals alike. So many kids grow up the same way unfortunately. She will survive and do well I think. We can’t help but feel lots of love for her and she has uncle Arroz checking in on her too. Keep safe and well my friend and thank you again for the videos. They are amazing ❤️❤️❤️
Gracie Star Macaque studies have shown that for proper physical & psychological development of infants to occur they have to have an intact bond with their mother, siblings and troop. Gypsy’s behavior is likely the result of a generational issue of long standing due to her family’s low rank. You can see in these images that her breasts are flaccid and likely empty of milk. Her inability to meet her own nutritional needs has seriously effected her ability to nurture Kailey.
@@loristone8860 Yet you have equally low ranking mothers lacking in food intake who do not shun or harm their babies during the time when frequent nursing is common. For example Tina and Skinny both gave grooming & cuddling and comfort access to the nipple for their babies. Yes the babies of those two monkeys did have to learn to forage at a much earlier age than their peers. But those two females's babies were not subjected to such physical abuse or rejection as all of Gypsy's babies have been. Gypsy seems to simply not like her babies at all & any cuddling/hugging or nursing is done very begrudgingly. Same with intervening for her babies. That seems to be hardwired instinct only because Gypsy will detach from her baby as soon as possible. For those who say how her babies have all survived please remember the babies survived because of the intense care and oversight of sterilized females in the group who provided oversight and affection and attention. The mothers who have lost babies to unknown causes do not utilize the babysitters as frequently as Gypsy or at such young ages for the babies as Gypsy.
Angela Kelley Everything you say is true. Unfortunately abuse and lack of maternal attachment is often a generational issue. Poor mothers grow up and raise children who are in turn likely to be poor parents. Just like Tiny stealing food from Tiny’s mouth. We now see Tiny doing the same thing to Teeny. It’s a cycle of abuse.
She obv able to forage.i guess because shes low ranked mums teaching that life will be harsh and getting her to be independent. Life for low ranked isnt all love and constant cuddles.gypsy teaching her how she was probably taught.tough love.i think people try and humanize these animals too much sometimes
I think it’s moments like 0:43 that she can still remember just like human children these babies really want and need there mommas love no matter how many times they’re rejected they still try. Most of these babies have hearts of gold 💖💖💖. She is a heart broken little thing😢😢💔💔💔. She was doing great until her mom showed a tiny amount of care and now she is just a crying the poor little thing. Who keeps her warm at night? Does she have to sleep alone? Does she have any friends to play with?
What do the adults think of how Gypsy does her grooming technique on them. I can't believe they let her yank their fur out. I hope someone answers this question. I've never seen a monkey groom as rough as her.
@@ArrozMarisco360 independent and strong lil girl while she was with us. I miss watching her . Teenie and Kaylee were amazing to watch grow and learn from survival skills on there own. Thank you for her sweet potatoe treat , very nutritious factor that she needed. 😉🙏🇺🇸
That’s teeny!!!! She must had got separated from her older brother tiny and Tina they stole the food she forged for all day out of her mouth!!!!! Omg 😱 I thought she died God is amazing!!!!
Why do they rip hairs out of them and eat..is that nutritious or something? Speaking from experience it is hard saying no to those cute kids, but sometimes has to be done lol
Gypsy doesn’t groom , she pulls and eats kaylee fur. How sad to see kaylee to get negative attention all the way around from her nasty mom. Her short life was never filled with love from mom or Krissy. 😓💔🇺🇸
They aren't human. They don't have this deep abiding love that people like to pretend they do. Some have more of an instinct for mothering than others, but it's instinct, not love that drives them
Has everyone forgotten that these are ANIMALS and NOT humans? Seems like lots of people are confusing their human emotions with these _animals_ instincts.... sure, they're similar to us, but they are far from us as well. Come on people.
Yes, we realize this but understanding these animals that are similar helps us deal with our own humanity to be more caring to our own children and society.
