I've been seeing this in the early spring here in Michigan. Seems to effect the sunfish and shad population the most. Although two years ago it was really bad and there was a bunch of bass and pike dead too. Had to stop fishing for a month the smell was so bad. I believe it is due to fertilizer and weed control. The more people hire landscaping companies the worse it seems to get.
You need to take a water sample ( take two and keep one ,,,just in case and film yourself doing it )and report it to the state conservation agency ASAP 👈
