In today's video, Tyler visits the new DreamWorks land at Universal Studios Florida for the very first time! This area of the park has been newly refurbished, and is finally open again. Tyler had so much fun exploring Shrek's hut, the new Trolls Trollercoaster, and Po's Kung Fu village, but the whole day he couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing. While 100% I agree with Tyler, it's about who you're with and who you are sharing your moments with. Travelling and experiencing without my wife never really feels the same. However for the kids area, it feels a little empty upon entry, I think they either need a stronger character presence upon entry or they need another ride that is new and not just the Woody Woodpecker repainted, they need something fun to draw you there. That being said.. that's what's probably being put in for How To Train Your Dragon area in Epic... Which really feels bad because technically that's DreamWorks too, so you are kind splitting your areas. If you had put Shrek, Donkey, Trolls, KFP in a large new DreamWorks world at Epic it probably would have been better for all the IP's vs. this spot.. It just feels like partial effort compared to all the new stuff we are getting.. idk if that makes any sense.

My wife and I got a chance to enjoy the new Kidzone yesterday. Overall, our impressions were very positive. The new Po interactive theater is nice, and we saw a bunch of kids getting into it. The Dreamworks show is amazing. The Shrek Treehouse is fantastic. The Troll re-theme of the coast is beautiful. That said, there are some flaws. Some will come out in tuning of the area, I'm sure--a better selection of foods, for example (I was underwhelmed by the pretzel dog, and the pizza waffle was a joke, and the boom box needs offerings that people actually want--bring back the stuff from the trailer!) Some flaws are going to be here for a long time. The walkways have some serious problems through the middle, people are going to be tripping over curbs. The "interactive" area with the cats on screens is terrible--nobody could tell what was going on. The noodle bowl spinners are a big flop, we watched kids try to make them fun, but it's just impossible. Compared to the old Kidzone, the show and Trollercoast are big improvements. As is the Swamp play area compared to Fievel's. The Kung Fu training camp is a downgrade compared to the old Curious George ball factory, though, even with the interactive show. And, most confusing of all, the center of the zone is still built to be a solar oven. Why they didn't provide more shade and/or sprayers to cool the area down is beyond me. They have been running this zone for a long time now, and this should have been a known problem. A couple of mature trees planted on the sunward side would have done a lot to help, or a frame and sunshade. Of all the oversights in the new design, I think this is the worst. We got baked while it was still in the low-mid-90s. It's only going to get worse this summer. That said, I still think this was a great refresh of the area. And I hope there will be more tweaks to the zone to fix some of its remaining issues. It is just in "technical rehearsals," after all.

Lets remember this is made for small children and not adults or teens. Yeah its a one time for me but I am not the target audience. Think of the small kid looking at rides they cannot get on its boring to them but something they can do over and over and not be told you are to small guess what I would have been ecstatic at that age. I am a 80s small kid we had slides and swings look at what they get now.

If you see the Trolls movies, the caterpillar transportation is wild lol I like the car theming :) We visited the land on Sunday and had a fun time, for a child area lol I didn't find anything missing (but maybe that gong)... with a ride, food, characters and a show, what more could you want? (Besides some more air conditioned places lol)! We all loved the pink lemonade ice cream!

here I am joining the " teared up at this video " club. I recently visited the land on my own, and the main thing I could think of was " I wish that special someone was here to enjoy it with me. " as fun as the parks are, they will never be at their full potential without the perfect person with you. from adrenaline-seeking maniacs to those who enjoy the scenery and themeatics- all theme park goers are one piece to a bigger puzzle. and a trip will never feel the same without the missing piece ❤

I think a LOT of people are forgetting this is an area for children. The entire rest of the park (virtually) is for adults. This is a children's area. OF COURSE it's not gonna have the same rush for teens and adults as the areas do.

It may not be a perfect execution of their ideas, but I think it serves its purpose well. It's an open area with lots of places for really young kids to play, cool off, and let the parents relax. I think the show is that extra piece the land needed to stay in a positive light for me, given that it's great for all ages.

We went!! I was stuck on a wheelchair for it, it wasnt super acessable for people in the chairs either, we took my 3 year old with us there and she barely like it, sadly. We met shrek and them, and she played in the wooden structure. She didn't like it. it was just a pretty crappy expirece. BUT the show was great, definitly could have had better seating options for handicapped people.

aw haha what a cute video! I was just at universal the weekend of may 17th and was sad I missed you guys! but obviously dreamworks was closed so I haven't been there yet, but it's definitely an update from the previous land. we used to go when my nephews were younger and would ride woody and even did the curious George water area, but man the barney stuff along with its collective surroundings needed a do-over STAT 😂 so even tho I'll likely only visit shortly, I'm glad the new kiddos get a freshly made area. I agree, it doesn't appear to be perfect but it's cute, does its job, and it's the renovation the area needed. maybe over time they'll also incorporate some camp cretaceous stuff since the show falls under DreamWorks (if they don't do that in camp jurassic in IOA).

None of my family 🎢 islands but I always wanted to go to universal to see Fivel,e.t,Jurassic,back to the future,mib,spiderman and seuss in the 90's. I watched the VHS tape ad for islands over and over hoping it might convince them to take me but no. They took me to Disney cali and fl instead. I could've used this so much as a kid. Interactive Po looks like it would be a blast with my nephew and the food looks delicious.but is it missing the Heart that each dreamworks movie has?I won't know until I go for hhn.😅the show looks beautiful and I can just imagine the terrified screams at Dragon on stage. 😂 Just like nickelodeon studios I hope this isn't just a passing phase and this land can keep improving because the characters are all great on their own. 🦔🐣🚀🥳

Im trying to figure out why they didn't make a Po's noodle🍜 stand/restaurant. Instead, there are dangling noodles to swing on. Missed opportunity, I think, but who's paying me 😂
