Honestly, in my opinion, this should be a pass for you. Don't give this a pass because of the brand. Neither shade was a hit. Save your coins for what really works in mastertone & undertone.

Clove is perfect, but the undertone is very grey until your oils come through. That java is GORGEOUS but you aren't dark enough at this time of year for her. I also agree that this formula really shows your texture as the wear tests goes on- not my fave, not my least fave but u slayed either way sis. Continue ❤

Definitely clove, as you can always contour and add depth to the face. Plus it looks flawless on you. I may try this foundation out tbh. It looks really nice.

Wow. I am shocked clove looks as good as it does after the swatch looked so so too light. I think java is beautiful, but just a bit deep in comparison, especially with a second pump.

I wanted to love this foundation but I had so many issues. It looked good on me in pictures, but in person, it was too drying for my dry skin, showed my dry patches. The shade was too red, and the one below didn't match. I'm glad you found two matches. Clove looks great on you!

I liked Clove on you. My shade is Ganache. It took that foundation coming out last year for me to know my shade with Laura Mercier as I was making other shades work with her tinted moisturizer.

I think clover is your winter shade but it does pull kinda olive and Java is your summer shade

Both. I like the lighter one better but u can use one in summer one in winter. Or one for the lighter part and the other for the deepest part

Always love your videos. If a person can't understand the shade graduation (like me), then it's a pass for me. You shouldn't have to "make it work" in big 2024. It should just work without effort I appreciare you showcasing this but I'd stay with foundations made with everyone in mind. I can't wait for more ❤

I think Clove is the best match, but Java would probably be a great summer shade for you because right now, it's too dark. I also think there could have been a shade or two between them that you could use year round.

They definitely could have many more deeper and rich shades in the line. The texture of the foundation is so unique but that was the first impression when I swatched it on my hand in store.

Clove has an olive undertone imo and I think that’s the reason why it looked grayish at first! You look stunning in both but I definitely can notice the jump btw the shades and an intermediate one would have been the best option for you!

I love your videos can you give a beginner guide to buying foundations and contours. If you have already did that video can you share the link. Buying foundation and contour is the most intimidating thing for me and I don’t trust the people at the makeup counter or at Sephora 😩

Clove has a golden olive undertone it’s the most beautiful one I’ve ever seen that shade is perfect and Java will be perfect if you’re going to a red carpet event

I didn't know it was viral! I've waiting for someone to review it so thank you! Clove looks to be your perfect shade right now and Java for the Summer months makes absolute sense. I'm concerned about the pores showing up though. I haven't purchased any complexion products so far in 2024. Last year I went to Sephora on January 1st to buy the Makeup by Mario surreal skin 😂. Loads of products are about to come out as we get to Spring. I will just wait and see what's coming before I pull the trigger.

I think the slight hint of grey could be because the foundation looks a bit desatured (not 100% full colour pigments in super short words). And desaturation means greyish undertones/hints in the colouring. I personally like it because there are not many deep desaturated foundations out there. That are just my speculations because I look desaturated in the winter and have a greyish hue.

I don't love either one. Clove is greenish in my opinion and Java is a bit too dark . Maybe mixed?

Java has the better undertone but is a little deep clove shade is better but the undertone is not it if there was an in between or mixed I think it would be perfect 😅 But the formula is not great and they’re definitely better!

Clove is better without highlight concealer. But I think if you did that extra light concealer, it would work better with Java.

I feel like even when brands do 50 shades of beige they aren't right for me. I used to think it was because I'm just too pale but I have come to realize that I also have less saturated skin colour so even ones that are close look like a full on mask for me. The other thing I found really funny was that several brands will have a colour like "porcelain" or "Alabaster" but they are nothing close to each other for instance LA girl porcelain is downright orange on my skin and I mean bright peachy orange 😂

Would love to hear your thoughts on how it wears all day… I was about to buy this foundation in Sephora and another. Customer told me that if you’re an oily girl, it’s going to separate on you after about 4 hours. Also, where did you get those earrings in the finished shot? They’re gorgeous!

I love how this foundation wears on me but i had a problem also finding my shade when i went to Sephora she ended up mixing 2 shades and gave me both as samples but im not buying 2 . Im latina but neutral sometimes a little warmer never had this issue very disappointing

The Clove wins hands down as the shade fits you really well. The other one is super dark and far darker than your skin it doesn’t match at all and in my opinion makes you look burnt and I’m not being rude.

Idk, I think Java looked a tad off to me, like almost too dark. Clove definitely looked better as it wore and, I think, matched the best. I'll be passing on this one. I would love it if you tried the new about face foundation. They seem to have a nice range, and it's pocket friendly. Thanks for the review. 💜

I like the color of Clove better on you, but you could always try mixing the two? Regardless, I'm one of the palest people that you'll find, & I have no idea why there are always so many fair, light, & medium foundation shades - and rarely a similar number of deeper shades as well. It has never made any sense to me, either.

I did notice in the pics that the models have the wrong shades on. This is pretty bad. I like the shade that matches your skin tone exactly. However, but you can make the darker foundation work as well. I'm not sold on picking up this as I'm oily & this does nothing to control oil. I don't like looking like an oil slick personally.

So as a point of reference, there’s Fashion Fair, Iman, Mac, Lancôme, Estée Lauder and more recently Fenty, and the other brands still mess up. That shade range was pathetic and it’s unacceptable to have to wait for it to settle - plus we could see the texture. Total pass.

🤣 its the one thing I can't do, I have seen so many videos when I wanted to lose weight and they just broke me rather than help me. and in todays day and age it takes very little for someone to tell you your are promoting disordered eating. I will do it for those that want to know, maybe a private group.
