The FA went directly to get Tuchel cos he was the best available manager & not one English manager was anywhere near good enough to manage our national team, full stop!!! 🤫
Correct. But nobody should have a foreigner manage their national team, in fact it should be a rule that the coaching staff should have to be from the same nation, it’s INTERNATIONAL football, that’s the whole point of it.. Country vs Country. If you can start having foreigners involved in your national team you might as well scrap international football because the whole purpose has died.
Let's be honest. Fa didn't interview anyone. Tuchel came with no compensation. Even letting him begin in Jan so he can obtain his bayern Munich salary payout. Get real everyone
True. People in the comments are still arguing about how there's no good English managers, completely missing the point that the FA appear to have openly lied about speaking to any English managers, which England fans should be annoyed about, even if they're happy with Tuchel. So many people can't even process basic information anymore these days.
Additionally, people are going mad about the German manager. The cricket team is coached by a New Zealander. The rugby team was previously coached by an Australian. The women's football team is coached by a Dutch person, and yet there is an issue with the German. If it were Klopp, there would be nothing but congratulations. Regardless of whether Tuchel wins every game and the World Cup, he will get slammed in the media.
So their answer to there not being enough English managers at the big clubs is to take the one there is away from the Newcastle job so that inevitably gets taken by a foreign coach so then we don’t have any? Ok 🙄 mind you, there were pundits saying Villa should have hired Sean Dyche over Unai Emery…no seriously
Gerrard won the SPL with Rangers not celtic and Howard Wilkinson won the old 1st division 1 Yr before the Premier league started not years before? Tuchel is a good manager and let's see how it goes?
The FA asked gareth to resign, and he said no. Eddie howe said publicly he is staying at newcatle, and Lee carsley said he wanted to go back to under 21s. 3 english managers turned down now go for best available
English coaches like Pardew, Potter, and Big Sam can't get jobs in the PL None of them has the expertise to win the World Cup. Eddie Howe has never won anything and the Saudis might soon lose patience. Harry Redknapp wants his nephew who failed spectacularly at Chelsea. The FA recognises that there is no English coach who is good enough. As a fan, I don't care that Tuchel is German.
Sir Alf Ramsey never won anything before winning the World Cup. I doubt Tuchel has "the expertise to win the World Cup", that's one hell of an assumption. What qualifications did Luis de la Fuente have to win the Euros? You're talking rubbish. You pick the best manager from your nation who wants the job and you give it your best. That's how it is always worked. All this 'nOt qUaLiFiEd' rubbish is nonsense. Tuchel shouldn't qualify because he's not English.
Bottom line, English managers are not on the level with Champions League winners. Southgate's achievements notwithstanding, the last English man to cross swords at eye level with the best in the world, was Sir Bobby Robson in the semi final against Beckenbauer. Beckenbauer said himself, that this semi final was "the real Final" ... A german legend paying respects to an English legend.
Ranieri won PL Martinez won fa cup with Wigan Laudrup(Swansea) and MacLeish(Birmingham) won carabao. Moyes won conference English managers can’t win because?? Days after Southgate left Eddie Howe said his commitment is unwavering, England not important, all about Newcastle Why are people so rerarded??
I'm a Newcastle fan, but why would they select Howe? He's the top English candidate, but that's hjis ONLY qualification; 9 years of managing in Premier League - all but one in mid table. He was exposed in Europe, due to inexperience; but Gerrard, Dyche, Lampard, or UCL winning Tuchel
Sir Alf Ramsey had won nothing of note before winning the World Cup. Sad state of affairs when England supporters do not even know that!!!! Then again, I assume you do not support England.
@@MarcoSpeaksNadsatwhat are you even going on about. Eddie Howe hasnt had the opportunities these foreign managers have had. Hes a young manager who's only now getting a chance at a club that isnt just fighting relegation every season. I would also suggest that what hes done with Newcastle is equally impressive to winning a trophy. He took over a club that was odds on to be relegated, no other team had survived on the points Newcastle had, at the stage of the season he took over, and not only did he keep that team up, he finished eleventh, which was pretty much a small miracle considering what I've just explained to you. He then went onto getting champions league in his second season, and that's with the majority of the squad that looked destined to play in the championship if he hadnt took over. Yes he had four new quality players, but he should of been nowhere near the champions league with that squad. Last season he got seventh with a injury crisis that's as bad as I've seen in football ever. Howe totally reinvented himself after he left Bournemouth, he went all over Europe watching how other managers managed their teams. Dont write this manager off, because hes very impressive, and will end up managing England in the future at some point.
gerrard -given the aston villa job and failed, lampard given the chelsea job and failed, potter given the chelsea job and failed. idk why he's dragging up steve mcclaren but he WAS given the england job and failed miserably. Eddie Howes doing ok at newcastle not exactly pulling up trees though. Southgate was given the job despite failing at middlesborough. There IS a pathway the truth is they're just not good enough.
The likes of Gerrard, Lampard and Rooney have all had plenty of jobs to prove themselves but, unfortunately, they all have the mentality of Neil 'YOU'VE GOTTA DIE FOR THREE POINTS' Warnock - all heart but no brains. I remember back in Euro '96 when Terry Venables had Brian Robson as his assistant with the intention of learning from the master and eventually taking over the ropes. That was almost 30 years ago. What on earth has happened? Why would the FA approach Eddie Howe if he did not apply and show any interest? I think most fans would rather win the World Cup than develop English coaches and win nothing.
“Why not Eddie Howe”. It was literally said months ago that the fee Newcastle would need to get him out of his contract was beyond the FA budget. “Steven Gerrard won the Scottish league with Celtic”. No, he didn’t. “The last English manager to win the English league was Howard Wilkinson in 92 and that was ages before the Premier League even started”. The Oremier League literally started a few months later. How on earth has he got a job on here
How is it "beyond the FA budget"? What makes you think that? There is no truth to that. Unless you want to reveal what the FA's budget is and what prevents them from spending their money on the release clause to take an English manager out of a club for the England naitonal team? The FA easily have the money to pay the release clause are there is actually zero reason why they couldn't theoretically do so.
They didn't. You're referring to media stories. Why would they have an application process and then ignore it and approach Tuchel? Tuchel openly said the FA approached him.
The national team is to consist of players from the home country. The manager, coaches, trainers etc etc all the staff can come from anywhere in the world. I do not understand what the problem is other than people jumping up and down because the poor guy happens to be German. Just ridiculous. .
England can’t produce top coaches & you know it ok get this into your little heads & face reality. Take a look at your top clubs all managed by foreign coaches because none of you even close or decent enough
Maybe improve the coaching in our own damn Country, and maybe things will improve? Duh. On Howe, he's great, but her's certainly not foinf to be wining England anything. In regards to 'Why aren't Championship managers getting interviews in PL?' Because they might not be good enough? You shouldn't just give tem the job, cause they're ENGLISH. You give it to someone who DESERVES IT. Stop being so against having a Non English manager.
