Is it just me who thinks Poch has done a great job in his first season. We’ve been struggling with injuries for like 3 years and this season has been the worst. We haven’t had our best player in Reece James for 90% of the season and Chelsea is the only club that made deep runs in both cups. Top 6 is a real possibility, we’ve been the better side in matches against City, Liverpool at the bridge and in the cup final, Arsenal at home, Man Utd, and Spurs when we’ve played them. Our highs this season, the level and quality shown has been insane. If we can find consistency and maturity with this young team, Poch will win many many trophies at the club. We need a new left back and a clinical striker, get those pieces right and we’re laughing. Btw, bringing in Amorim or Tuchel will set us back as we’ve seen the vision and style of Poch really start to embed itself into the team. Amorim’s project specifically will take even longer than Poch.

Hiring a new manager might slightly improve the situation. However, there will still be problems if the transfers are purely data driven, without considering what the manager’s system needs, and without considering what kind of players would work well together. Look at how Pep has built ManCity. Data might tell you that Lampard and Gerrard are better players. But Pep needs BernardoSilva and Rodri more in his system. Lampard and Gerrard would not be able to play tiki taka passes. They might be amazing players in Mourinho’s system but they will not do well in Pep’s system. Teamwork is another problem. You need to identify player profiles that can work well together. Messi is short. When Messi drops deep to be the false 9, he needs a fast inside forward to make runs into the box. Beckham is slow. He needs a tall number 9 to head in the crosses. Data will tell you that both of them are great players. But they would not work well together in reality.

Lampard imbued the team with offensive spirit. Tuchel instilled defensive prowess. That combination resulted in winning trophies. The longer Tuchel stayed, the more the offense stagnated. Bayern’s performance vs Real Madrid showed wasted scoring opportunities. We don’t need that back at Chelsea.

The ONLY thing I don't like about Poch is I don't think he's a manager who DEMANDS wins. Having said that, I actually think our football isn't too bad - I know the whole xG thing ought to be taken with a pinch of salt but if we took our chances we'd be running with Spurs and Villa for the top 4 spot now. That's literally the case. And that's top 4 potentially, with a horrendously young team with no prem experience. I feel there's stuff to come.

When evaluating Conor Gallagher you have to take into account his potential and not just focus on perceived limitations. In preseason he was anything but good. There was a very revealing halftime 'hot-mic' moment where he was being roasted by Raheem Sterling over his positioning and general play. His developmental trajectory from then on (in a struggling team) has been nothing short of astounding. His general stats already mark him as one of the elite midfielders in World football (if you disagree with me show me the stats to back it up) A similar progression next season would elevate him to become one of the best midfielders we've ever had at Chelsea. I don't believe the club would commit such an act of wilful self harm by selling him before he had peaked.

Great video George - realistic, yet positive. Having said that, cant support Tuekel coming back - he won UCL, super cup and world club champs with Lampards team. His style of play reminded me of "Sariball" - and you look at Haveitz under Arteta and under Turkel and hes a different player. TT also NEVER tried to adjust his game play to make Lukaku work ( maybe he couldn't, but maybe he didn't try) fyi - im not a Havitz or Lukaku fan. Say what you will, Poch has got this second XI performing better as the season has gone on - earlier we'd be losing from winning positions, now we draw or win ( 8 EPL games without a loss before imploding at Arsenal) Keep Poch, Keep Stanley away from the team( preferably the whole club) keep Gallagher and find a spot for Tiago. what we remember, tuchel took over, we were 10th in the league, playing badly and in danger of losing out in the champion league, and he eventually won. Took the team to six finals winning four. Never finish lower than 4th. Kept us playing european football. A nemesis to guadiola. What coach doesn't have a bad patch now and then. He is a winner, that you can never say of botchechino. Chelsea fans are so mediocre these days. Damn I miss the high values and targets of Abrahamovich.

Silva and Gallagher are MUSTS to keep at Chelsea. Lots of reasons for that viewpoint. If you don’t know the, you’ve been sleeping. As to return of Tuchel, there’s no question he’s a brilliant coach, but he surely has some baggage. Nonetheless, I would approve of his taking over from Poch.

To me how Chelsea FC style of playing will bring down any player style of playing and its showing a lot for one they not signing any attacking manager for the pass seasons we get two attacking managers Antonio Conte and Thomas Tuchel and it works but no when they to go forward with the ball it end up back to our goalkeeper for some reason

All the talk about managers as Tuchel or Nagellsman their quite different tactical approach regardless are mute as far as the owners and the board doesn't change their errr...requirement for a yesman in that position. Tuchel was fired, Enrique spent just few hours in London and ran to Paris and Nagellsman even went into a public sarcastic spat with them for that reason so ..forget about it.

Araujo is a guaranteed starter with top wages, no pass in his game and a track record of being hot headed quite regularly. He is not a leader, by the fact that he himself acts immature on and off the pitch. I would honestly prefer Andreas Christensen over Ronald Araújo. I just don't like Araújo very much, not to say he's a bad player but I just think that Christensen is better for us because he would be cheaper, has more experience compared to Araújo and knows the Club very well. What's not to love? Gabri Veiga is off the table for me! I don't think signing a midfielder is our main priority rn we just need to convert Disasi into an Essien esc player if we can, him in a pivot with a healthy Enzo is the best we can do I think.

I am tired of talking about tuchel. Yes, he delivered us a champions league, but everything else around that was a bit crap. I loved the guy and felt he was done dirty, but i dont hate poch like many others. I think poch is positive, just for the mentality alone.
