From, “I Want To Hold Your Hand” to “Something” in six short years (1963-1969) is truly amazing. What an incredible journey. The likes I’ll never see again in the years I got left to live, that’s for sure!
It’s amazing because I want to hold your hand was a hit and a great song and most bands don’t get much better after a hit, but the Beatles just continued and made progressively more complex music!!
Nothing but a wonderful composition, it brings tears to my eyes it reminds me of my early early years. I'm now 60 and memories pop up on my head and just brings tears of joy. That's all people, just wanted to share that ,!!!!..
The 5th Beatle debate is settled right here. George Martin's contribution can not be underestimated. Listen to that arrangement!!! Restrained, creative, dynamic, percussive, warm and beautiful. The way he holds back on the last verse is simplicity and brilliance right there. F*cking magic.
Paul harmony at 1:29 thru 1:37? Magic. I also love some bantering in the background during string parts. There's a great reason Lennon and McCartney picked this for the A side of their next single. They not only knew George had " arrived ". They knew they didn't have anything to compete with it on their newest record.
Yes. They did. But he had Arrived. " All Things Must Pass " blew than all away, but they wouldn't admit it. He had some of those songs for years, forced to tuck them away until later. I think their eyebrows and ears perked up after it was released. So did his album sales.
@@drvee1983personally, I think they could gone a few more years at the top if they invited Billy to join the band and done more of George’s songs. He had quite a backlog of great songs. Billy was a great writer, too. However, you have to admit that without the way John and Paul dismissed George, some songs never would have been written: All Things Must Pass, Isn’t It A Pity, Run of the Mill, Wah Wah, I’d Have You Anytime and many more.
That's BULLSHIT!!! It is a great song no matter fruity boy participated or not. In fact, both of George's songs on the album were far better than any of Fruity Paul's crappy songs. I suggest you don't comment on things you know nothing about so that you don't embarrass yourself.
George Martin era dono de uma sensibilidade unica e sutil Soma-se a isto esta obra prima de Harrison, creio que seu ápice criativo dentro dos Beatles, depois deles voltou a demonstrar várias vezes sua qualidade como compositor
Though these four very talented guys are "lads from Liverpool", their timeless music seems to be fitting to any Western-cultured nation. They are STILL a big part of us here in the United States.
I recall back in the 70’s John Lennon referred to ELO as “Son of Beatles” and at 1:39 in this video, one can see how the latter were influenced by The Beatles. The instrumental interlude beginning around 1:39 may well have inspired the creation of ELO’s “Can’t Get It Out Of My Head” and the opening instrumental to “One Summer Dream.” For the gift that John, Paul, George and Ringo have given us, I can never adequately thank them.
Cor!.....if there was ever a mix that...that gave you 'chills', making the hair on the back of your neck stand up! It's like the arranging style for 'Yesterday'....sort of. Vocal(s) with George's strings....but no guitar. (there! get out of that! nit-picky types)
@@DLD2Musictotally understand, if you do we’ll be on the lookout for it. My wife to be wants to walk down the aisle to it Saturday. If not we’ll go with one of your others!
@@DLD2Music im sorry sorry sorry i didnt mean to come off as angry. i genuinely think that this is a really cool mix of this song where you can easily appreciate the contribution that george martin had on the beatles music. and youre uploading of this video/new mix of the two tracks can be an important video. sorry for the confusion. its hard to hear somebody's tone over a youtube comment with no emojis
