Interesting little detail, throughout the film Spider-Punk/Hobie sometimes calls Gwen “Gwendy” and calls Miles “Peter Pan”, so contrary to Miles initial insecurities, it appears that Hobie, like Pavitr, is actually playfully rooting for Miles and Gwen to hook up.
He’s straight up Gwen’s guardian angel letting her crash at his place bc she’s homeless, staying in the spider society to look out for her, making a watch for her, and pre-setting it to Miles dimension so she can go to her little boyfriend he really was that cool the whole time

The movie's subtitles really helped shed more light on some things: The Sinister Six "cartels" run New York The Prowler is a "vigilante" in this universe Jamieson is still part of the Daily Bugle, but "fully supports" any vigilante work So without the spider bite, Miles pretty much became Batman!
Miguel IS a Spider-Man, he's just super tough and difficult to reason with in this movie. Not a villain or anything, but definitely the antagonist of the movie. He told us in his intro "I don't always like what I have to do. But I know I have to be the one to do it."
And it should be noted that he's in the "Conflict creator" of antagonist, and not a bad guy. What he is doing is right in the grand scheme, but it conflicts with the direct world of Miles. We will definitely see him joining to defeat The Spot in part 2.
Since all of these versions are alternates of existing comics versions (miles, noir, peni, 2099 are different to some extent in the comics), it is possible that they make this version of 2009 have a full villain turn in the next movie. Miles Morales 42 is likely going to have a redemption arc as a nod to the original prowler from comics earth 616. His name was Hobie Brown and he was a villain but became reformed and heroic.
@@royolaniye6643 how many vigilante anti-hero’s beat innocent people unconscious, and then abduct and forcibly confine them? Sounds a little….villainous to me.
Miguel's inclusion to the big screen is such a a big milestone in the eyes of longtime Spider-Man fans. Miguel was the successor to the Spider-Man mantle from Peter Parker back in the 1990s comics. He was arguably the Spider-Man that really cemented the "anyone can wear the mask" philosophy, all the way back in 1992. He was created to be almost an exact opposite of Peter Parker. He is super serious, his 'jokes' borders on mean-spirited instead of witty, and he will kill if he has to, unlike Peter Parker. Miguel comes from a time period in the Marvel timeline so ruthless that Dr. Doom of all people is considered one of the good guys. Imagine the world of Cyberpunk 2077... and add in superpowered Marvel shenanigans on top of it. It gets kinda messed up.
Info on Miguel O'Hara(Spiderman 2099) He is from the future and he is the second Spiderman of his universe. He is built different frommother Spiderman. He doesn't have Spidersense or the ability to stick to anything. He uses his claws to climb and has extremely enhanced senses to the point he doesn't need Spidersense(although it would be very useful). He also has a paralyzing venom which doesn't kill. Also his fangs aren't retractable, he actually taught himself to talk without his fangs showing. While making a cure for his drug addiction his work was sabatoged and his dna was changed. He is more Spider than most other Spider people. The only Spider people that are more Spider than him are Spiders Man which is a collective of actual spiders in a suit Man-Spider which is an extra mutated version of Peter in which he grows 4 extra arms, fur, has 8 eyes m. Spider-ham since Spiderham isn't a pig bitten by a Spider but a Spider bitten by a radioactive pig
I really hope in beyond the spider-verse they actually show and somewhat explore Miguel’s origin so people can understand him better because it was pretty fucked how he was practically forced to be a Spider-Man
Seeing this movie and so many people not recognizing the Spectacular Spiderman at 42:53 makes me want that show to come back with it's third season, that was such a good show and it is cruel that it never got a chance to be finished

@@foamytomato9342 but you see her going though the emotions and her story is somewhat mirroring Miles. It's no "no reason". Her father has had MONTHS to think it through
@@salp.5882 Obviously, her story is similar to Miles bc they're both spider people, duh. And when I say for no reason, I mean that the father doesn't change his mind bc of anything that happens on screen. It's off-screen character development. Also, I don't understand why he can't just be a police officer and keep Gwen's secret
@foamytomato9342 maybe because he will be conflicted. The beginning of the film clearly shows that the police see Spider-Woman as a vigilante and think she's killed someone. Her dad's internal conflict is wanting to support his daughter vs doing his job...remember in the beginning he tried to arrest her? Thats his conflict that came back in the end. He literally decided to give up DURING her last speech to him.
Has it caught anyone's attention that Pavitr has emerged as the unique version of Peter Parker who managed to rescue two different Gwens from falling within the span of a single day? Initially, he prevented his teammate Spider-Gwen from falling, and later, without delay, he swiftly rescued his girlfriend Gayatri.
Loved Miles clearly thinking, “Watch the hands, not the mouth” at the end. Also, if you listen to the Daily Bugle reports on the radio is Prowler’s lair you hear talk of a rumored vigilante going up against the syndicates that have taken over the city… likely Miles.
Peter B. Parker is actually supposed to be like the first and original Spider-Man from the comics. He is from the main world/continuity. That's basically OUR real world. And he's probably the strongest and most experienced of them all. More than even Toby's Spider Man.
@@greatwhitesufiboth are correct and wrong. Peter A. Parker could had been best one but it was still young, he had still things to learn but he died prematurely, Peter B. Parker was the best in his prime, but time hinder him up, things didn’t went his way so he was in a low point we when “us” meet him in the first movie.
@greatwhitesufi Firstly, Miles's universe, known as Earth 1610, isn't the main universe in the comics. It's a newer, alternate dimension called the "Ultimate universe" or "Ultimate Marvel" that was launched in 2000. Everything is slightly different there from the original. For example, Coke is called Kola Soda there, or Peter Parker happens to be blonde, etc. Therefore, that Peter Parker/Spider Man from that universe (voiced by Chris Pine) who died in the first movie was never exactly the original or "main" Spider Man. Peter B. Parker was. Secondly, I don't think the original Peter is called Peter B. Parker because he is the second or "B" version of the original. His full name is Peter Benjamin Parker, just like in the original Marvel comic book universe. That's why he has black hair, Coke is simply called Coca Cola in his world, etc. Because his world is supposed to be the original or real universe. Just like in the main timeline.
also 616 is the original he got like 4 like him but more advance like Assassin Spider Man (he's the deadliest he's everything what 616 is but enhanced he got killed for plot in Spider Verse I hope they bring him back), Superior Spider Man, Doc Ock Spider Man (idk what his green web head called is) and Ultimate Spider Man (very angst, not Miles)
To answer your question when Miguel got attacked by the Vulture. No, Miguel does not have Spider Sense. He got his powers differently from everyone else, thats why he has the red eyes, the claws, and the fangs
Actual Miguel is a spiderman, he story is different though, instead of being bitten by the spider, he was injected with a spider DNA which gave him spider power. his 50% spider and 50% human. His like the superior Spiderman and his has some powers the rest of the spiderman's don't have and they are some power's he doesn't have that the other spidermen have. So like Miguel is Genetically imprinted with spider DNA, Miguel has superhuman strength (lifting 10 tons under optimal conditions), speed, stamina, reflexes and agility, and enhanced durability. He can jump up to 30 feet. He has enlarged canine teeth (fangs) which can secrete paralyzing venom. but he doesn't have spider sense nor can he stick to walls. Oh and Also he is the only Spiderman in the comics that have webs from his body. Also if you think about it, Miles from earth 42 has already gone through his canon event, His dad is dead but the spider wasn't around to make him spiderman.
It's only a canon event if it's a police captain that dies. It has nothing to do with being a relative or father since that's just a coincidence. If Jeff never became a police captain then someone else would be fated to die in front of Miles.
@@bazimyanhis dad death is a Canon event, in Earth 42 his dad dies instead of his uncle. One thing Miguel O'Hara doesn’t know about the multiverse (spiderverse) is some events happen outside the canon, so all the BS about our Miles being an Anomaly is not true, he was supposed to be who he is, the dead of his uncle is in the web, if he were an anomaly he wouldn’t suppose to get any canon events in his life regardless the other Spider-Men. Next movie will give a better explanation but in the comics is easy to understand, you don’t become Spider-Man just because you get powers, you became Spider-Man when you chose to be him.
You know its a great movie when the biggest complaint is that it wasn’t 3+ hours long. Those who didn’t like the cliffhanger are gonna enjoy this movie even more when the third film comes out. I still think they should’ve kept the “part 1” in the title so that those who didn’t know it was 2 parts wouldn’t be disappointed
@@okruszeklukeya2806 If it's not in the title like Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One, and half of the posters and trailers don't say it, then there's no way for everyone to know
@@foamytomato9342 originally it was when the first trailers came out. Not every sequel says in the title that it is the sequel, you just gotta do some research to know how the story is built. Not doing that is on you, not the creators, who said clearly what it will be like from the very beginning
@@okruszeklukeya2806 Most sequels literally have 2 in the title. If it doesn't, then it's probably a well-known franchise. @@foamytomato9342 absolutely, they treated the people who did the actual work like shit but the idea isn't the problem. It was the way they made it happen
Miguel is a literal Spider-Man. His DNA is infused with Spider DNA. That’s why he has fangs. Those fangs also can administer venom like any other Spider. The Talons he has on his suit are meant to help him climb since he can’t stick to walls. Also, while agree that letting people die is messed up, if those people don’t die then the entire universe could collapse. Miguel and Peter know this first-hand.
It is a complete story - Gwen's story. Her arc is completed once she fixes things with her dad and creates her "band" to help Miles. Miles' arc started in this movie and will end in the next, but they gave us her full arc in this one so it wouldn't be an incomplete story
59:08 "mandatory curfew in New York, as the sinister six cartel battle for control of the streets...if there was a vigilante, he would unquestionably have the support of the daily bugle" Listen...the next movie is gonna be lit AF....but that gives context of why he's technically not letting spiderMiles leave...if he leaves and causes a commotion that comes back to their space...that's a problem....especially with the sinister six cartel being out there throwing down in the streets at night..
I’m so glad you showed most of hobie’s scenes because some reactors cuts every time he’s going to talk. Hobie has the best lines and is just my favorite character overall. It’s sad how most of them don’t even show Hobie in their reaction videos.
Miguel's powers are different from the others, he doesn't have the traditional spider sense or wall crawling, he uses the claws on his hand to climb, and the fangs he has are used to inject paralyzing venom.
Miguel is the original Spider-Man Successor from the 90’s. He’s known for being colder, his puns are always I’ll intended as in they’re meant to sound snarky unlike the charismatic Spider-Man. It is theorized that this is supposed to take place before he realizes what being Spider-Man really means.
I cringe at how many people have been upset or disappointed in it ending in a cliffhanger. The suspense at the end and build up to it...one of my favorite moments this year in cinema.
I think it’s cringe reading people say the response is cringe. Nobody is “upset” we loved it and wanted more. Of course we cant get more and it was a long movie already. The “disappointment” is because the movie was awesome and it ended haha. Cant wait for more. Like eating a bag of chips and not realizing its the last bite and your still hungry and suddenly its gone
I love this trilogy so far. It's almost like the perfect middle finger to toxic Spider-Man "fans". Into The Spiderverse is a Miles-centric movie that carries the message of "Anyone can be Spider-Man". Which, if you know anything about how Miles Morales was initially received, and how some people still think of him to this day, the movie quite literally could not have had a better main character. Miles Morales had these so-called "fans" raging back in the day, and to this day as well. They hated that Spider-Man was black/not Peter Parker. In their eyes you can't be Spider-Man if you aren't Peter Parker. Into the Spiderverse was the ultimate middle finger to that. Now you have Across the Spiderverse coming in again. Those so-called "fans" also think that you can't be Spider-Man if you don't suffer enough, more or less. That's one of the reasons Tom Holland's Spider-Man gets hate. In their eyes, he doesn't suffer enough. Even though he LITERALLY DIES AND COMES BACK TO LIFE, it's not enough for those sadistic freaks. The entire confrontation and debate with Miguel is a perfect middle finger to that whole thought process because Miles is literally like "don't you realize how messed up that sounds?!" Cuz yeah, that shit sounds screwed up no matter what.
Well, the first Miles run was really bad. Into the Spider-Verse fixes pretty much everything that was wrong with Miles. I reread Ultimate Spider-Man, Miles included, last year and it's still bad. I still don't like that version of Miles. I do like movie Miles because he's actually a good character with a strong supporting cast even outside of the other spider people.
Miguel O'Hara is the Spiderman of 2099 and in his time all the Avengers like Spiderman are gone. He was a scientist for a corrupt company called Alcamax that forced him to do inhumane experiments. Miguel tried replicate the experiment that created the original Spiderman by splicing his DNA with that of a spider. The experiment made him more spider gave him claws that he uses to stick to walls. And fangs that secret paralytic venom,he doesn't have a spider sense but inhanced senses.
This a complete story. Gwen states it at the beginning. This is the story of how Gwen (and Miles' other friends) screwed up, and how they came to realize that.
Yeah, and then he starts threatening whole universes cuz his self esteem kept getting hurt. Man could have literally done anything with his life after the accident, and yet he chose to go on his villain arc. I dunno whether to laugh at him or facepalm. Actually, I'mma do both. 😂😂😂🤦
@colt1903 Yeah, I don't think you get why he became a villain. Can you imagine being left out by EVERYONE, even your family? And bcs of a guy you created nonetheless? Like I think it's understanable that he want to mess miles's life so bad
READ THIS COMMENT FOR A FEW EASTER EGGS/Hints IN THE MOVIE/THE LAST MOVIE 1.) Miles was most likely suppose to become the prowler in his universe. During the scene where his Spider-Man and Him meet for the first time, his SpiderSense has the colors Purple and Green, changing to Red and Blue almost immediately, showing that his path had been changed! 2.) The Number 42 was hidden all throught the first and second movies. (Earth-42) including Miles basketball jersey. 3.) While swinging on Earth-42 Multiple builboards can be seen that namedrop members of the Sinister 6. Some of spidermans most Iconic Villains. 4.) The Spot was actually seen in the first movie. If you go back to it, during the raid on the Lab to get a New Goober, Peter B is insistant on grabbing a bagel, which he eventually tosses to Miles, Miles then throws a bagel and it hits one of the scientists...AKA "The Spot"! 5.)(More of an awsome detail) The Prowler and Miles themes sound suspicously Familiar when played in reverse.
It was announced in advance that the 2nd and 3rd movies would be presented as a Part 1 and Part 2 story. In fact, the original title of the upcoming 3rd movie was "Across the Spider-Verse Part II" until they decided to change it to "Beyond the Spider-Verse."
(At 32:05) You want to know the sad part is? Before Aaron Davis, Hobart "Hobie" Brown was The 1st The Prowler in Earth-616 before he was trying to turn his life around. THIS Hobie Brown… is from Earth-138. Also Aaron Davis does not exist in Earth-616. He came from the Ultimate Universe, as well as his nephew. I *think* that's about the sum of it, as far as I know?
Miguel isn’t actually a spider person, yhes actually more spider then the others, he has spider fangs that are tipped with venoms, he doesn’t have spider senses but he makes up for it with his super human senses dialed all the way up, his suit is basically a hologram that can withstand bullets, and unlike other spider people, he won’t hesitate to kill. He wasn’t even bit by a spider he changed his biology to be a spider person, because he’s dimension never had spider people but he knew that other dimensions had spider people. He is basically the opposite of Spider-Man, a much darker, worn out, spider person.
"What's important is not standing by while allowing someone to suffer or die because you do nothing if you don't get that, then you don't know the first thing about being spider-man." -spider-man edge of time I kid you not this quote came to my head during the "intervention" scene and as a long-time spider-man fan, it made the experience of watching this movie in theaters much more epic
Lmfaoo the movie did technically finish. The movie started with Gwen and ended with Gwen. Mile’s movie isn’t finished though so it’s a good way to end it I think. Although it did piss me off the first time I watched it for real lmao
Originally the movies were announced as Across the Spider-Verse Part I and Part II. It was always to be a two-parter. But then Part II got retitled as Beyond the Spider-Verse (an probably won't come until 2025...)
This movie is fire & I feel all the other Spider-Man’s aren’t bad they jsut doing what they think is right cause I mean they ain’t wrong Miles got bit by another dimensions spider . & I loved the whole cannon explanations
Idk why but I feel like if Miles messed up with another canon event he just going to be another Miguel which is sad because the whole universe could poof to non😢😢
I played the Spider-Man P24 game.....dude sacrificed a life to save the city so you know why he's there. It's not wrong for them to put the lives of the many over the few I don't think.
Yeah, Miguel is a Spider-Man. But even in the comics, his spider powers are different than the traditional Spider-Man's. For example Similar to a real spider he has venomous spider fangs and claws instead of sticky powers. And hes from the future in the comics. So he uses future technology and gadgets along with his powers. Also I don't know If the movie is taking a different approach to his character or not, because in the comics, he is a still hero.
36:30 Ben Reilly aka Scarlet Spider clone of Peter Parker. First remember seeing him towards the end of the 90s Spider-Man series. Spider-Man has to lead a team of Spider-Men to the Scarlet Spider's universe to stop his world's Peter Parker who goes mad and combines with a symbiote to become Spider-Carnage.
Its crazy how yall called it that Miles 42 is a vigilante. Its confirmed from the official art book that Miles 42 is a vigilante, which gives us hope that both variants of miles will work together and dig deeper into how wrong Miguel is/the spider man "trauma to be a hero" thing works.
I dont think the vigilante idea in the end discussion is how it's gonna play out... but that would be really interesting and I'd love for that to be the actual way this plays out
Honestly, I do think he's gonna be a vigilante, cause like they said at the end the Sinister Six are the ones running New York. I think Miles-42 is more like Miguel in this sense, where he does bad things for the right cause. Killing and stealing isn't out of the picture for 42, since Uncle Aaron gave Rio a shady amount of rent money in cash. But I highly doubt they just go around killing and trying to take over the city like other villains. Especially since Jeff is a cop, I think all of the Sinister Six violence is what killed Jeff, and 42 became the Prowler to prevent others from ending up like Jeff, and to beat the Sinister Six at their own game, kinda like a gang war or something.
5:25 The music here is a version of the Spider-Man theme song! Apparently, if you slow it down and play the same notes it's using with the orginal theme songs rhythm, it plays out it out. So technically, this is Spider-Gwens theme song!
Those teeth you saw Miguel had are fangs that can inject paralyzing venom; just as actual spiders would. The movie doesn't outright explain the rest of his powers, so if you want to know, do your own research?
@YaBoyRockLee Reactions, 41:13 Miguel caused an Incursion! Only one Variant can occupy his/her universe, ever. Miguel replaced his dead Variant, and an Incursion still occurred. Do you remember what Reed Richards said about Incursions in Multiverse of Madness? "An incursion occurs when the boundary between two universes erodes, and they collide, destroying one or both entirely." Variants are tied to their own universes, they are a part of it, so wherever they go so too does their universe! Miguel was a large black hole that brought his own universe smashing into the one that made him happy. This story is awesome! It has taken what we know of the Multiverse and turned that information on its head. Nearly everything in the Multiverse has a Variant, and every Variant has their own story (sometimes similar sometimes quite different), but they all have the exact same canon event. We saw this in the Loki Disney Plus series, What If? and again in No Way Home, but this movie is really showing us all the different possibilities. In most universes Spider-Man is Peter Parker, so most of the variants we see are variants of Peter Parker--Peni Parker, Peter B. Parker, Peter Porker, Peter Parkedcar (the jeep you saw earlier), Pavitra Prabhakar and so many others. Miles, Gwen, Miguel, Jessica Drew, and Margo Kess have already shown us, Spider-Man isn't always White, a man or one particular person. Spider-Man is also a constant Variant in the Multiverse, there must always be one. Miles' universe is unique in that his universe, for a brief time, had two Spider-Mans existing at the same time, albeit by accident...or was it? A few seconds before this scene here suggests Miles WAS supposed to be Spider-Man. Sure, we see Universe 42 Miles, but he's still a variant of 1610 Miles, and we already know that Variants are linked by their Canon Events--being bitten by a radioactive spider has to be a canon event! 1610 Miles probably wasn't supposed to be Spider-Man at the time he became Spider-Man, but it was going to happen at some point. As we've seen with all the different Spider-Man Variants time isn't linear: Miles is 15, Gwen is 16, Peter B. Parker is likely in his mid-thirties (he said he had been Spider-Man for 20 years in the last movie and Peter was bitten when he was 16, IIRK, and this story is one year after Into the Spider-Verse). Still, the point I'm trying to make is everyone is at a different stage of their life and story, Miles is still early on into his story, one year, and Pavitra has only been Spider-Man for 6 months, his story is roughly half a year behind Miles'. Miguel is the real anomaly if you ask me, HE MADE HIMSELF Spider-Man. He worked at Alchemax, the same company Spot worked for, but in the year 2099. All of the other Spider-Man variants were actually bitten by radioactive spiders. Jessica's story is unique too, and who knows what this franchise is doing with her story, but this story made it clear that everyone in the Multiverse is a Spider-Man Variant, so she likely has an all-new, all-different story that works for this story. We saw the splintering timeline and the canon events that link the Spider-Man Variants: 1) Spider-Man always gets bitten when he's a teen 2) Spider-Man always loses a parent figure 3) Spider-Man always loses his first love 4) Spider-Man is always betrayed by his best friend 5) Spider-Man always gets with MJ Did you notice the name of Gwen's band? They are called the Mary Janes! Gwen is Miles' MJ! And Miles is Gwen's Spider-Man! Gwen is the friend that betrayed Miles, and Uncle Aaron is Miles' parent figure that died. Yes, in the comics Jeff is dead, and Uncle Aaron is alive, as we see with Universe 42, but this isn't the comics, and this story is often telling us that its doing something different. This was an amazing movie. I love the twists, but after all is said and done, I think we'll see a happy ending, one that isn't true to the comic. Miles is going to do his own thing =) Another nice reaction!
Honestly if ya'll know ya'll know Spiderman is never meant for happy endings and a side note Gwen only crash with Hobbie because she needs a placs to sleep seeing she's never came back home and i think Gwen is more in the boat it no need to rush this relationship so fast while Miles wants it to happen
Yup. They say Miles was never meant to be a Spider-Man. I’m open to the concept that the rules on apply to him like they do others or another possibility. It’s a fictional story so you never know what’s gonna happen Most of the Hobbie banter is jokes just having fun man. As far as I know spiderman is not meant to have happy ending because of reasons like this somebody orchestrating it because they think it’s necessary.
This movie was so good, if they played the third movie movie and it was 2 and a half hours , we would all gladly sit for 5 hours and watch it. That's how good these Spiderverse films are
I’m not gonna lie I was on miles side until I saw him go to the wrong universe and saw how things were plus I feel your pain I was watching this in the movie theater when it ended the way it did
You were right in Miguel not being the same as the others because his powers come from a non radioactive spider, so he has no spider sense but better physical abilities. Also the reason MIles has invisibility and his electricity is because his spider was glitching when it bit him. My working theory is that Mayday being born and Gwens dad quitting both happened because they met Miles in the first movie, It's what Miguel meant by him calling Miles the original anomaly.
could be for the movie, but in the comics the reason miles has more powers is because the spider that bit him was biologically engineered and different to the kind that bit peter
Food for thought Miles 42 was suppose to be Spider-Man(Bit by his Spider) because Peter Parker didn't exist in Earth-42 where as 1610 Miles was suppose to become the Prowler since Peter Parker Existed in his Universe
In into the spider-verse when Miles and the 1st spiderman meet, miles background changes from Purple and Green(prowler) to red and blue(spider-man ofc). It was right in front of us and we didnt even know it.
33:35 She has a type for sure, her type just happens to be Miles Morales. First Five mins of the movie, he shows up in her mind like 10 times before he’s reintroduced. Girl was thrusting 😂
If I had a nickel for everytime a bagel was significant to a multi-dimensional superbeing I'd have two nickels... which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice right?
Also let’s stop disrespecting the other spider ppl it’s miles morales movie everyone knows those spider ppl weren’t allowed to catch him he’s the main character
@@YaBoyRockLee no what I’m trying to say is don’t look at them as the bad guys both miles and the spider society are in the right and both are in the wrong for not acting like adults and coming together and actually talking it out
The to be continue didn't bother me at all since they revealed years back that its suppose to be a trilogy, so i knew there would be a some sort of a cliffhanger I don't think earth 42 miles is a good guy or any anti hero, I think he's a bad guy. Uncle Aaron was probably a bad guy in that universe still and since miles looked up to his uncle he joined him and since his father died he got drawn closer to his uncle and considering he has to help his mom out since shes working he's probably working as a criminal to get money for them
At the end, when you asked if Gwen was impressed, No, I think she was hurt. To me that was the moment she realized she really effed up with Miles. When he broke her web that was him severing their connection. They are no longer cool. That last " Bye Gwen" was very final from his perspective. Gwen's betrayal hit much harder than Peter's because at least he talked to Peter.
