We're fighting for Alexandria alongside General Beatrix and Steiner for this remix of Something to Protect (aka Protecting My Devotion) from Final Fantasy IX!
I've been seeing quite a few Playstation-era Final Fantasy requests lately (which makes me really happy), so for my first Final Fantasy IX remix, we're going to pay tribute to one of gamings most badass female characters: Beatrix.
Something to Protect is a rearrangement of Beatrixs theme Rose(s?) of May. I've also incorporated some elements from Beatrixs battle theme (The Wavering Blade, or Sword of Doubt, these FF9 song names are all over the place) into this remix.
I'm sure I'll do more FF9 in the near future. Till then, enjoy! :)

Loss of me, Rose of May. Protecting my devotion, Something to protect. Either way. FF9 is godlike, and Beatrix is probably my favorite character arc in it. Also, RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! LAVOS OVERSLEPT 20 YEARS AND GAMETAL WOKE HIM UP WITH HIS SICK GUITAR RIFFS! THE END IS NIGH!

Big shout outs to the creators of the glorious Moguri Mod me and Rub used in the gameplay footage, one of the best graphics enhancing and overall mods I've ever seen, fixing most of Square Enix's shortcomings when it comes to the lazy porting of this amazing game for Steam.

The Moguri mod is fantastic. Everything looks so clean and crisp, the backgrounds are gorgeous and if you're going to play IX, you need this mod for the definitive experience.

So I was driving along listening to this, which was awesome even though I didn't get that far in FFIX, and then I heard the buzzer as usual...but then I heard….THAT. THING. I legitimately felt a shiver up my spine and I gripped the wheel tighter. Autoplay starts up Falling Down. COLONY DROP! IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO BE SURE! COLONY DROP ON LAVOS!

Aside from the Kirby music that Sailor Dee asked for: - The New Fire Emblem 3 Houses main battle theme. - Twilight of the Gods (Fire Emblem Echoes) - Seeds of Time Finale (Garden Warfare 2) - PvZ 2 battle theme Medley (from all the different eras) - In relation to Void Termina, adding the "Tridential passion of the mages" to the end of the 5th movement, and using "happiest curtain call" for the guitar short would be nice.

At least someone is acknowledging Beatrix’s abilities (other than Steiner). Very well done on incorporating multiple Beatrix-related tracks together. I suddenly feel inspired to use my UoC tickets to get Beatrix in Brave Exvius now. : ) Lavos has returned to disrupt the timeline of our remix enjoyment!

Beatrix is a nice addition if you're playing with Light, or if you need a nice breaker, but she may not fit any team. On the other hand, her STMR is bonkers for many units. And that may be interesting since STMR moogles are coming.

Wish she could have been a permanent Party member. Like if there was a choice between killing off Steiner and replacing him with Beatrix and he somehow passed on all his abilities to her.

Not a Final Fantasy guy personally, but I do adore its music. Pieces like Dancing Mad are some of the best in game history, and you really do the series justice with these. At some point, you should give the God-Slaying Sword from Xenoblade Chronicles a shot.
