By Harold Arlen and Yip Harburg. Played on Yamaha YDS-150. This is the Ariana Grande instrumental arrangement, from Karaoke-version.
This is my first video playing the YDS-150, which I've owned for about two months. I expect to upload a critical review of the instrument soonish.
For those who might be interested in these details, this was recorded "acoustically," that is, I played the YDS-150 through a Bose SoundLink mini into a microphone situated about two feet away from it. So, I didn't send the sound directly into the computer, but I didn't use the built-in speaker on the YDS-150 either. I used the "Tenor sax 04" voice, the "Breathy" one, edited to add distortion. I find this adds a bit of "grit" to the sound, making it more natural, and more pleasing to me anyway, than the unedited tenor 04 sound.
Vibrato is, unfortunately, built-in; scoops are done with the right thumb analog controller. With a little practice, this works pretty well.

ohh man, Im soo glad you are back. I used to study your Mountain Ocarina videos. I thought for sure you weren't going to be making any new videos.

That was awesome I like the tenor 04 sound breathy more natural, sound listening to the music you would think it is an acoustic tenor saxophone, I have a yds also and you did a perfect job.

Try using the app to add distortion2 to the tenor 04 voice, as I've done. It gives that breathy sound just a little more definition. I like the YDS but I really wish Yamaha gave us more control over some of the details of the voices. I especially would like to have more control over the vibrato, in terms of how long before in kicks in. With the tenor 04 voice it starts almost immediately, but I'd really prefer to have a second or so delay. Also, it would be great to be able to make adjustments to the "attack" for each voice. But it doesn't look like Yamaha has any plans to update the software again, unfortunately. That's some nice playing on your channel!

No, it's not played from the built-in speaker. It's played through an aux cable to a Bose mini SoundLink then into a table mic. The built-in speaker is okay for a quick practice session but it sounds like a toy. For a decent sound you need a proper speaker.
