Thanks for the video and see you are also enjoying your cls-60 as it sure makes landings so much fun. Glad I got a chance to try a early version of the VR1 at FSExpo and still happy with my choice as it gives me some extra cash for the upcoming 5090. I also can't wait to see what 2024 brings to the VR table.

Yeah... If you do not like headset tightened then I now get why you dislike comfort of VR1. I am on another side of the spectrum there... When I had and tried Q2 and Q3 with base strap I had the problem that I could not tighten it enough.... Once I got it tight enoug for my liking it untightened itself in about 1 minutes. :-D

Thanks for the vid. As discussed in VR1 Discord, I'm not concerned with the strap at all at this point. It comes down to personal preference as you say: 00:07:55 "this is another thing if you don't mind the headset squash to your eyeballs cuz I know a lot of you don't mind having the headset tight to your face then the original strap is is absolutely fine for that I basically like to feel no pressure at all on my face but you might be different so again please bear in mind this is a personal preference"

Weight is THE problem for this headset. I don't know what developers were thinking when designing it. Time flies by fast when you're in a flight sim. I find myself jumping into MSFS2020/DCS for a quick "half hour" playing session at 10pm just to find out that it's 3am already when I finish a flight. I can definetely feel neck pain after these "quick" sessions with G2 (550g/670g with cable). I can't imagine doing the same with 850 g (probably near 1kg with cable) headset. There is a reason why audiophile headphones don't weight more than 450 grams and even that's pushing the comfortable weight limit barrier. Best are around 300 grams. I'd say VR headsets should be well center balanced and weight no more than 450 grams.

Neck pain from the G2? I don't think that's normal, at least not from its weight. It's so light! Maybe try adjusting your posture.

@@lurchilurch5507 +600g with front weight distribution is not light. Well maybe when you're 20, 30 and in perfect health. Once you hit 40, 50 it's all downhill from there when it comes to your neck health. Stenosis, spondilosis etc hits 2/3 of that age group, especially those of us who did heavy lifting at our work for a long time. That's why weight of the headset matters.

Weight isn't an issue. I can spend 5-6 hours in the xr4, that weighs 1.1 kgs.

My experience from several headsets is also, that I had to mod every single one to make it long term comfortable by using 3rd party stuff or 3D printed stuff (Samsung O+ / Reverb G2 / PSVR2 on PC).

I always appreciate your videos but also wanted to give a shout out to FS Academy. My story is simple, about 1.5 years ago I got an Xbox and decided to install MSFS since it was on gamepass. I fumbled around for quite a while not really knowing what I was doing. Struggling to get lined up with a runway to land without using the flightpath aid, I did the VFR training and found it really useful celebrating with a coastal tour of the UK. Then about 6 months ago I thought I wonder how I fly on instruments, so I purchased the IFR course. Now, having never flown a plane in any sim in 2023 I've gone from an Xbox flying with a controller to installing on my PC, getting the Moza AB9 + MH16 (having already gone through a turtle beach and then a VKB as I upgraded), using BeyondATC to do all my own ATC, I'm currently flying from the Shetlands to Australia in a DA62 with absolutely no aids having an absolute blast. Sad I didn't get into this sooner

Certainly considering this headset, if it ever ships to Australia. On a different note, you really need to try out BeyondATC with Traffic. Takes realism to the next level for flight simmers

If I could magically have the lenses right up to my eyes and have the headset firmly planted in place even with head movement in all directions, then I would love to have the strap fit to be quite loose so it could be barely felt, but that's not how things tend to work in reality. I have always worn my Index with the lenses cranked all the way toward me and the strap tight enough so it doesn't move side to side or up and down, which means pretty tight so I have red marks on my face clearly showing where it sits. Too bad but how it has to be.

VR is magic but only with good framerate. Anything lower gives stutters and in VR its not fun at all no matter how good the game

Thank you for this video of yours, I have seen them all. I have the Crystal and am intent on buying the Ultimante version. I'm not worried about the weight but I have some questions since there are no other updated reviews at the moment: 1: How is the 120hz situation? For me it is very important not so much for flying or sim racing but other games like Ping pong. 90hz would not be good. 2: Is the local dimming fixed? Comparing it to the Crystal? 3: Is there a little internal ventilation so that you don't fog up the inside by being so long? Thank you very much.

Thankyou for watching. I don't have 120hz on the software at the moment, local dimming isn't fully working yet either and currently, it's not that great (but I've been told it will greatly improve), there is some cooling in the headset, but fogging could still occur depending on the humidity.
