Here's my personal transcription of the lyrics. It's not perfect. I would say 90% accurate. Sometimes I wish I had my whole heart in my hand You know sometime I wish I had my whole heart in my hand You know I show some of these women How to treat a man Well baby what did you want poor me to do Little girl what did you want poor me to do You know I had done everything I could I just tried to get along with you Blues is a worried old heart disease You know the blues is a worried old heart disease You know it look like the very one you have been loving is so darn hard to please I wish I had my whole heart in my hand You know sometime I wish I had my whole heart in my hands You know I sure wish to show some of these women How they ought to treat a man You know I went in my room I fell down on my knees You know I went in my room and I fell down on my knees You know I asked the good Lord to help me please You know it's a shame It's a low down dirty shame You know it's a shame Yes it's a low down dirty shame You know I am so sorry the day little girl I ever knowed your name You know the sun has gone down It's about to get lonesome here You know the sun is going down It's about to get lonesome here You know you've been misusing me honey It look like you don't care I am going away I am gonna stay away a great long time You know I am going away yes I am gonna stay away a great long time I am never coming back not until you changed your mind If you see my baby please shake her little hand for me You know if you see my little girl shake her little hand for me Tell her baby if you ever get lonesome Sit right down and write to me Little girl if you ever get lonesome Sit down and write to me You know I can read your little writing Dont care where in the world I be You know just as sure honey as two and two is four I sure want to leave this time I expect I'll never come back no more Baby I aint never gonna be back no more Baby I aint never gonna be back no more I said when I leave here I am going way down to the gulf of Mexico Run here little girl Run here and let me shake your hand Run here little girl Run here baby and let me shake your hand I just wanna tell you I had trouble ever since I have been your man Go away blues Go away and leave poor me alone I said go ahead blues Go ahead and leave poor me alone You know I've left a little girl Sitting down in the backdoor crying The poor child Sitting down in the backdoor crying It run the poor child crazy I believe she is gonna lose her mind You know the blues is a worried old heart disease You know the blues is a worried old heart disease You you didnt want me honey You dont need me you're hard to please
Thank you Son House this is for ever already a long time my blues. You was brilliant and a real legend. And your Blues goes on and on.Touch my heart and soul,Thank you spacelordMF420 for uploading,
I love the blues. Yes, I am white. But I feel that the blues touches me in places that a man never could. The great blues artists such as son house, jr. kimbrough, b.b. king, Robert Johnson and so so many more, have changed my whole perspective in what real music is, it must have emotion. I live by the blues now.
I hate too tell you, Blues was born at the bottom of a Slave Ship. The Blues was Black and White Slave owners created it. Your wrong. All to do with Black and White.
The reality is yes this is black peoples music and culture. So while it does not come natural to whites people, many can listen, learn, study and immerse themselves in this music and play it legitimately and with respect to the music. It’s the white rock guitarists out there trying to use the music platform for showing off their technical guitar skills that are are the one who don’t feel the music, don’t really speak the language or respect the music no matter how much they try to tell you they are keeping the blues alive. It’s not their culture and it shows.
I was blessed to to close the bar I worked at, steal a 6 pack and sit on the curb across the street from Son's House. John Mooney would come by after his gigs and play til @ 4 w/ Son. It cost me nothing but a couple girlfriends
"The blues ain't nothin' but a low-down shakin' chill If you aint never had 'em, I sure hope you never will" - Jinx Blues, Son House. me2pennieswurth-...naw, he was not being cocky etc. he said what he meant and meant what he said. blues break it in two.
do I hear two guitars there ? who might be playin with him ... it could be just him but the seperation yet tightness of the two parts is scaring me... amazing...
@@zlessly Not sure about that, will try find out, if I come across it, will let you know. But what I actually meant was, sounds like House playing on his own, but he sounds like two guitars. If so , amazing.
@@zlessly just listened to it again, now it sounds like there's another guitarists as well ! Have to somehow dig around to find out. On second thoughts, now I think he was playing on his own !!! Amazing.
Not quite, Pearline, empire state, and death letter are one of those unique themes, after that he has several themes with this same pacing and rythm with slightly chamges
@Kevin Suarez Honestly I learned the lyrics by listening to him and other bluesmen from his age. It's the best way. Even if I were to write down the lyrics you would still only understand a little of it. You must feel and understand it too.
@Kevin Suarez So I listened to the song and wrote this down for you. It's about 90% accurate. There's parts where I cant really understand him but it captures the meaning well I think.
Hi. My name is Dan. It is possible from you listeners if you be so kind and write lyrics? Am from Czech republic and for me it is very difficult to understand Mr. Son House just from audio. Thank you for answer.
Correct! Blues genius Alan Blind Owl Wilson. Actually, after Son House's 'rediscovery' in 1964, it was evident that House had forgotten his songs due to his long absence from music. Wilson showed him how to play again the songs House had recorded in 1930 and 1942. Wilson played Houses's old recordings for him and demonstrated them on guitar to revive House's memory.[8] House recorded "Father of the Delta Blues" for Columbia Records in 1965. Two of three selections on the set featured Wilson on harmonica and guitar.
Son is really sorting me out right now. My ex-girlfriend's mother passed away from cancer this morning and there's a part of me that wants to console her but then I keep remembering how she was the wickedest bitch I've ever known and was so goddamn mean to me when we were together.
