When a former racer and his clever son concept-build a new Supra, the result is a JDM legend in the making that could be straight out of GTA 5: a brilliantly transformed 2020 Toyota Supra GR MkV A90 with its HKS turbo-charged 550-horsepower BMW B58 engine, one-off Lamborghini-style vertical doors, intelligent Air Lift Performance air ride suspension, full titanium exhaust, custom-designed three-piece DP Wheels, and a uniquely modded HKS wide-body kit. Nicole Johnson visits Rad Rides in Huntington Beach and drives the one-of-one meticulous creation built and owned by father and son team Stephen and Stevie Aguayo.

I think the level of gorgeous insanity in this build actually does the new Supra a favor, overall. Its so nutty, yet so well-executed, it almost becomes perfect. And Im not a Supra fanboy by any means. But, well done.

Can we clone her? She's absolutely perfect in every way! As for the Supra I'm still sad its not Japanese. Also loved the Back to The Future reference. I have that 85 Toyota pickup that almost got turned into a rock crawler but I decided to restore it and its worth much more now.

@@NicoleJohnsonsDetour As a 50+ year BMW owner & driver, I was very skeptical when I heard about this collaboration with the BMW Z4 Coupe. The first ones I saw didn't really change that opinion. Steve & Stevie have just taken this thing off the deep end and made it unique, waaay beyond any expectations. It is VERY nicely done!! Thanks for another excellent interview/review. Oh, and Nicole, they can't run anything "Over" in this car. That spoiler just peels the obstruction up off the pavement and flips it over the hood!! 🤣👍

I hope you could come and visit me and my vehicle in WI, cause I have the only 2109 accord sport 1.5 in the US and South America with vertical doors, the only other person in the world with this is in Japan so me and the shop had to do the custom work ourselves there were zero schematics for it. I have it on my RU-vid channel on the progress to kcmpelte. I have been at car shows too. Also will be in Missouri this weekend

Wow crazy build!! I built a 450hp '76 Camaro with my dad back in the 90's and there weren't very many aftermarket parts like there are now, the aftermarket world has really blown up. Glad I could look back on those days but to build one today would burn your wallet!! Not for the average Joe...

I'm not into "new" cars but hats off for Steve and Stevie, this ride is just sick! Love it! Looks awesome, pops like crazy and seems to be as grounded as a go-kart, but probably way softer since it has pneumatic suspension. The roll cage is a must, not only for protection but also stability (less body torsion so to speak.) By the way, just for mentioning "Initial D" you already got me by the heart. Cheers!

The new supra is dope! People get upset about the fact that bmw engineering is top notch! I do think that the kid and his dad did a bit much on the kit.. I'm more for the clean look. But overall it's still a dope set up!

That’s actually extremely dangerous installing a roll cage in a street car when you’re not wearing the proper gear including a helmet if you were to get into a crash you could crush your head on the bars and it could kill you.

I've been a Supra owner of Mk2-Mkiv and still own Supra's. Bmw made a really nice sports car but it's not a Supra. I'll give the car Cool 🆒😎 points but only for what it is.... Bmw! Great review of this beautiful car.💯🔥🔥🔥🏁🏁🏁

I'm kind of a simplest when it comes to cars. When the import tuner craze started, I was one of those with the 2000 Civic Si with a body kit, loud exhaust, custom 2 tone factory Honda seats, etc. Now I'm more into simplicity, but I can't deny the time and effort to make this car, which is new on the market, into someone's vivid creation. And for those who say it's way too show car, well that's the entire point, it's bringing attention to their business.

While it isn't the way i would want to modify my car, i have the utmost respect for these gentlemens work and enthusiasm! I wonder how much additional weight the car got with the modifications. (I initially always thought air suspension would be lighter than steel springs, but turns out i was mistaken, as i was made aware of by a video of a tuning company that compared the weight of a car before and after installing something simliar.) But it probably won't matter for the use they intend it for. And in the case of a well build cage, the weight is of course well spend.

This father and son build is one of the best A90 Supras that I have seen and there's a lot of A90 Supras builds out there and all the HKS parts that they got from I don't know where I mean these parts are from the 90s the body kit the wheels the back spoiler looks amazing as all the parts they put on the A90 and that's his son first build I can only imagine what his next build will look like I got to give this father and son build a big tums and Nicole Johnson Detour a bigger tums UP for showing us the build thank you Nicole.

If you want an attention getter, this is spot on. But for stealthyness, personally I would avoid 70-90% of the widebody stuff. It's a show car for sure. Nicely done.

Typically I’m not a fast and furious kind of guy. I do love my Porsches, a well set up Boxer Can’t be beat. But to see a father and son team and a supra like this, it’s just outstanding. the car is engineered you can just do that all day the car just says mmmooorrreeee. that turbo sounds like a jet engine ... I thought that modified the guard to fit that deep dish wheels... when l saw that stance l was like " that bump stop well destroy the guards kiss them good buy when the car leans on the front suspension a emergency stop thank god your set the height . " That is tight and so neat .

Are you sure it doesn't want to murder you? It sure sounds like it could. You didn't spend as much time driving this car as you have in some of your other cars, but this one has an incredible amount of detail. Then again, being in town you don't have the ability to stretch the cars legs like most of your other videos. I always jump on these the moment I see them, you find amazing subjects.

Sweet build! What a great sounds of the engine! I didn't know it has a BMW engine! I had a 92 BMW E34 520i I really enjoyed that car. It was pretty special it was the first with a 5 speed ZF automatic gearbox. What an awesome father and son team! They build a beautiful car! On my Unimog I get help from my father! It is really fun to work together on it! Come to the Netherlands and I give you a tour of my 1965 Unimog 😍
