@@tooncentralanimation tell that to ex-director, now entrepreneur Lawrence Guterman, who before conceptualizing this garbage movie, created a more obscure (yet still just as disliked) film called Cats and Dogs. He planned it to be 2D animated at first, but decided that it would be more "funnier" to see them in uncanny valley 3D live action. The movie went on to be a huge success (stereotypically evil cats and good dogs, unlikable characters and all). But afterwards it was forgotten years later. Guterman just wanted a quick buck. Guterman thought he could have the same effect with Son of the Mask. But the box office sales tell otherwise. That's why he retired in filmmaking
