Do live version of "In my time of dying"!!

Live is great but the problem is, there is actually little live footage that includes video, it's mostly audio. By just doing live that includes video of them actually performing, you're going to miss most of the songs in their catalogue. That, and you'll miss out on the production genius of Page (guitarist) in the studio. He was an absolute wizard. The only way to dive into Zeppelin is to do both. In fact, what you just watched is the video from one live performance set to the audio of another live performance because there just isn't any video of them performing "Immigrant Song" that includes both. Another example is "Babe, I'm Going to Leave You". The only video with audio of a live performance is an old black and white version of a four-song performance they did for a "studio audience" and while it was very good, the studio version is much better. Believe me when I say that for old die-hard Led Zeppelin fans, it's depressing just how little video there is of them performing live. ;) Edit: In any case, if you're going to do a serious dive into Led Zeppelin, it's best to start with album 1, track 1 and keep on going. Most recommendations are of their "biggies" but there are so many excellent songs on those albums, some of which they never even performed live. It would be a shame if you didn't hear them. ;)

This is definitely the best version! Every live performance is different, even of the same song. Incredible improvisation and guitar solos in the live songs.

Live is great, but they have so many great songs, literally like 100... and they don't have (good) live versions of nearly all of it... That said, go for it the way you like, but I would suggest at least with your favorites that you do the studio version also... we'll watch both ;-) If you are curious, the Royal Albert Hall concert is online in full... maybe break it up into 2 or 3 videos and react to that?? It's early in their career, I think '69 or '70...

GOAT status for Jimmy or anyone doesn't matter. There were/are relatively better but if I was only allowed one to listen to forever? It'll be Jimmy Page. He had the best riffs and coolest sound, people accuse him of sloppiness but he was experimenting on the fly so sometimes it's messy, other times it's magic.

msg 73 is pretty much gone from youtube but royalk albert hall 1970 and denmark radio 69 are still up. both are AWESOME gigs!

You say rigth...The legendary Jhon Bonhan...One of the best drumer all of time. All of them are legendary. Page, Plant, Jones....The version lives are very good. All the concert, all the songs of the concert in Madison Square Garden, 1973 are perfect. Daze and confused is long, more long that studio versión, all songs are more long, but is so impresionant to see them in the scenary. I love so much Zepp live, 1973, 1975 to in Earl Courts...In My time of dying is amazing...

Check out How Many More Times live. Either from Denmark radio or their Royal Albert Hall 1970 performance.

You have the right version here for sure.

If you do Dazed and Confused live, Please do the 1973 version from MSG. I know it's a long song, "27 minutes" but it is iconic. The 69 live version is good just not this good. The "69" live version they were still babies when it came to performing and it's is a bit rough around the edges. So I personally prefer the longer version not as much for the length but for the performance quality. Oh why live is also often better is Page and Plant really liked to improvise live and add a lot of stuff to the song. often on the spot. For example, the guitar solo at the end of this song is not on the studio version. The Dazed and Confused live I mentioned is 3x as long as the studio. So they added a ton of stuff in that. You heard the Screech ound part either from Shrek 3, The School of Rock or Thor Ragnorok.

Zeppelin helped shape the sound of Hip Hop. Listen to When The Levee Breaks and pay attention to the drums. It's been sampled and copied a bunch. It was recorded with Bonzo set up in a stairwell with microphones set several stories high and then run through a compression device. There's a video about it. Jimmy Page performed on a P Diddy track too.

I really recommend sticking to the studio versions, especially if you do Dazed and confused, which is the greatest achievement of mankind

There's a long list of great guitarist. Jimmy Page and Jimi Hendrix innovated and that's part of what makes them stand out. Alvin Lee, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Steve Vai, Frank Zappa, Gary Moore, etc, etc.

70's thank God he didn't put a shirt on 😄😍😍Yes John got Robert through the horrific loss of a child being a Mum and Nana I don't know how Robert got through well I don't think he ever did especially when you listen to some of his interviews you know he hasn't Bonham is an amazing drummer just look at him! Paige is a fab guitar but unfortunately arrogance spoiled it for me. For me it's Angus Young

What you heard was the studio version. Live footage was cleverly edited into it. I don't hate this, but I think you should know the truth.
