In mentioning Mrs. Anna Leonowens, it is interesting to note that her book, "Anna and the King of Siam", and all the derivatives, like the two " The King and I" films were banned in Thailand, interpreted as a slight to His Majesty...the very notion that a farang (Westerner), especially a woman(!), could influence the King, was a grave affront... It is difficult to appreciate the importance of the King to the Thai people, but it is something indisputable. Visitors would do well to learn about and respect Thai culture, before leaving home...long live the Thai people and long live Thailand.

I don't want to insult you, but you insulted Thailand first. Cambodian dance in the clip about Cambodia from the same period as Thailand isn't as beautiful as Thai dance. Thai dance is more delicate and beautiful than Cambodian dance of the same period. A pre-Khmer Rouge clip that shows how different it was before. Cambodian dance changed form after the Khmer Rouge. Because the Thai royal court helped Cambodia restore its culture after the Khmer Rouge incident ended. This is 'cuz there were hardly any Cambodian dance teachers left after the Khmer Rouge. Part of the Cambodian style of dance knowledge has also been missing. As a result, Cambodian dance was influenced by Thai dance at that time in many ways. Today's Cambodian dance is heavily influenced by Thai dance styles.
