Finally someone catched the similarities between "Obladi Oblada" and "Why don't you get a job". In this case, is not plagiarism per se, is the same structure, that is, both songs can be sung together and they match, but the main rhythm is different. Same happens with "Amnesia" (Chumbawamba) and "Wannabe" (Spice Girls), though the main chord at the beginning is too similar, you can sing them together and they match; even in the instrumental bridge of the first, the rap part of the second fits perfectly. Another example: "Bésame Mucho" (mexican popular song from the 1930's) and "The Way" (Fastball).

I'd like to see an artist argue in court... "I'm more famous than that other group, so I'm the original and they copied me even though they released their song first."

For the one with Sara Bareilles and Katy Perry, I remember when both of those came out. I also remember Brave usually being played on alternative radio stations, while Roar was played on mainstream stations. I always found it funny, because while they sounded so similar, the radio stations considered them different genres.

"All the Young Dudes" predates "Telephone Line" by a few years.

Both these two songs and 21 guns use nearly the same chord progression, it's not surprising that they sound similar

Ever heard the intro to Cupid by Miki Matsubara? Suspiciously similar to Wake Me Up When September Ends by Green Day. And Miki did it in the 80s. Coincidence?

I've said this loads of times, Every time a bad song comes along by an artist I love, it always ends the same... Guns N Roses live n let die, Aerosmoth come together, Rollin stones I wanna be your man, motley crue halter skelter, I'm like "wooooa, these are really bad, what's gone wrong here?"... ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS turns out to be a Beatles cover. Why don't you get a job is an offspring LOW. Figures they were ripping off the Beatles

Creep was actually stolen from the Hollies 1972 song ‘the air that I breathe’

The won the lawsuit, but is strongly disagree. They are quite different.

Selena Gomez - Same Old Love has a remarkble resemblance to The Turtles track "You Showed Me" from 1968

“Why Don’t You Get a Job “. Sounds a lot more like “Cecilia” by Simon and Garfunkel than the Beatles song in question.

They're all pretty similar. They use the same damn 3 chords (I IV and V)

Everything comes from somewhere, whether it’s an influence, sample, mashup, remake, reference, remix or a copy or rip off ect…COOL REALLY!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🔊

As a professional musician-yeah I may be classical and not…rock/pop/rap garbage, but I still have more experience than most people- plagiarism is very…so to say, difficult. I personally think using a main and or common melody for any kind of w and or lyric, or anything actually, is not necessarily grounds for plagiarism. The only example of what would be very suspicious is the one of Selena and whatever tf that other persons name was. Because the music AND the melody are rather similar and almost untransposed from its original state. However even then, I wouldn’t call it plagiarism because there is too many differing variables in it to make that claim.

Backstreet Boys and Nsynch were on the same labels and often had the same producers so those similarities are understandable. I think that's the case for a lot of these pairs. Lady Gaga on the other hand in my personal opinion is a clear rip off. When I first heard Born This Way I immediately thought of Madonna and as far as I know, they did not work with the same producers.

By the way, look for Bad Romance (Lady Gaga) and El Diablo (Elena Tsagrinou). Extremely similar: same key, same structure, etc etc.

Beyonce vs. Kelly isn't fair. The same guy wrote both songs. They were not supposed to release Kelly's song.

Really Ryan Tedder wrote the Kelly song? Anyway the only real similarity I could hear was the supergeneric beat

Kelly wanted to shelve it, but the label insisted on releasing it both on the album and as a single.

Most are not even close to plagiarism. If this is theft songwriting just died. Music works a certain way, things are bound to be similar.
