Not only does she write songs which are musically, vocally beautiful, but songs whose lyrics have depth, wisdom, and meaning -- unlike 95% of the drivel we've been forced to hear for the last twenty years or so! Hopefully, she will turn the modern-day "music (?)" industry on its ear (so to speak)!

i am 70 this year, Angelina is the best male or female i have ever come across and i have seen and heard just about all the greats and from all genres. No one can touch this young lady, maybe in an individual song they can match her, but overall they cannot touch her

We tend to forget, she doesn’t act or look 15, that she’s still very young and yet is able to create such a fantastic, swingy fun song that still manages to carry an important message..I can’t wait to see what she creates in the future..!

What's truly amazing is not that she puts together this original song but the fact that it is done in a form of old time jazz that goes back to the 1940's where my mom told me it was a style of jazz called 'Swing'. The Big Bands playing at large dance venues in NYC like The Roseland and when the majority of the orchestra would take a break, a female singer would entertain the audience doing songs like this.
If you haven’t already, check out her 3rd video for her original song “Million Miles”. In black and white live in studio. It’s the best version of the song. It’s a piano, a cello and Angelina ! And it’s heart wrenching !!! The reason I say 3rd video is just that. The first video was done by computer using Angelina’s own artwork that was animated. The second version is a regular video with the original music, which was over produced. So the 3rd video with just Angelina standing at a microphone with the piano and cello is just so mature and beautiful !!! Again she is just 14 years old.

A GREAT suggestion at that : - On Valentine's Day, at age 10, Angelina dropped a cover of "My Funny Valentine", the 1937 jazz standard that has been covered and included in 1300+ albums through the years, and that performance was absolutely beautiful! But here's the thing : If you want to listen to what Angelina sounds like as of RIGHT NOW, she dropped a new cover of that song on Valentine's Day 2 weeks ago. And just let me tell you right now. You are not going to be prepared for that insanely beautiful performance. Listen to it and understand why I constantly keep referring to Angelina as the future G.O.A.T. of the industry. I love the pianist moving to his guitar for the chiming chords, then staccato'ing back to his keyboard. When I think of trio's, I know the piano or guitar will be sacrificed. Here, the arrangement is so spot-on perfect.
Angelina grew up singing Jazz and this is obviously her favorite genre, the biggest influence, the origination of her versatility, deep soulful expression and deep emotional connection to her audience. She can sing any song and any genre. ♥👣 She is absolutely fearless in choice of covers. No artist is too big and no song too daunting. Most Artists shy away from singing Acappella as it will quickly show any flaws. It’s such a swinging song that is nearly impossible to not move along in some fashion, with a strong old school jazz vibe in sound and vision. Her voice, dynamics and runs are indeed unique and a joy in itself. The message is beautiful as well: life should be lived with hope. So yeah just great and perfect!

Great reaction. I believe Angelina is re-imagining a new take on jazz that is a combination of Jazz, Blues, and R&B. Her style and sound is very unique and doesn't really fit into any of the "established" musical pigeon-holes. As you listen to more of her covers and originals you will start to hear how she interlaces elements of old-school, classic jazz into modern songs in a way that just fits the music and doesn't seem forced or out of place and creates an overall new sound.
She almost always changes any song she covers. Like you millions love her voice. In her last two studio releases her voice has really matured which is amazing for a 16 yr old .I really enjoyed your reaction , thanks
Matt, I'm just a regular guy and I love to listen to Angelina sing. I always enjoy listening to you guys in the trade who appreciate everything she is doing much more than I. She has about a half dozen originals, I believe, and the lyrics in all of them are very profound. She has something to say and adds music to tell us her story. Matt, I'm not a musician, but it seems to me she is the whole orchestra. Back her up with a piano and a cello or with just a guitar and you wind up with a beautiful musical package of bliss. I just subscribed.

I love the song but, it took listening to it a few times to realize none of the lines rhymed. That seems very rare. No "love/glove", "man/fan", "risky/whisky", "admire/desire", etc. Yet, it doesn't matter in this song and everything makes sense and sounds great. I do wonder, though, why nobody comments about it. Is it more common than I knew and I'm just not seeing elsewhere?
