He was using Logic Pro (GarageBand’s bougie cousin). They have similar looks but are definitely different😅 But yes you GarageBand is a great way to start and work your way up from there👌
Ok he was using logic pro but Conan Gray did make his song Idle Town in GarageBand and that song got him a record deal and now he’s famous so anything is possible 💖
i think now i get what i was doing wrong... i used to write lyrics but couldn't turn them into songs... i wrote them strictly as a poem with rhyme and rhythm and couldn't sing them afterwards... even tho i can't really sing and know nothing about music i should try starting from some simple tune and hum to it just like you did! maybe that's how songs are composed lol thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!
It's indeed very difficult to write the lyrics first. Melody then lyrics, it's far easier that way. Most especially, you will be amazed with the lyrics that you can make if you base it on your hum. That's what I do and it's fun discovering what topic can be derived from your melody than having a concrete idea of what you want the song to be about.
@@jsiixxr All you need is a microphone, and if your computer has good audio quality you don't even have to have that. There's a bunch of free Daws out there that are really good (I recommend soundbridge if you're a beginner)
The thing is I’m a very strict writer if something doesn’t sound right sounds stupid cliche or too niche I scrap it I’m very poetical so everything has to be written first
I'm very late, I had the same issue, so I looked at the lyrics of my favorite artists. I tried to write some lyrics without many rhymes and without much structure and came up with a title first. Also, a tip is to write it late at night and then come back to it. I do my best creative work at night, find your best time and go for it!

Wow I'm so inspired writing songs and melody because of you. Thank you for sharing your ideas. Golden nugget that I learn from you. Melody first before Lyrics because can adjust with the melody. But melody cannot just easily adjust with the lyrics. So cool. More power to your channel.
Wow, it's so fun to see that we both have the same way of writing (tho I'm not as good as you). I do that too like, the lyrics I've wrote are based on my humming. Even though I don't have any idea on what the song is all about, after I heard my hum, an idea immediately pops up in my head.
if i may, i'd like to suggest making a few humming takes with a different melody and cadence. This helps with writer's block when you can't find the words or phrase to fit. I use to struggle a lot with block when i hummed out a melody. It also helps to write notes about what you want to write about. This usually makes the words just flow and keep me focused on the topic. Good vid!
So two nights ago I was trying to sleep 2 in the morning and a line came to my mind and I wrote a whole ass chorus and two verses and now I can't come up with a melody :D yay me

I mean I tried to record a song with pure instrumentals (because my lyrics suck so I didn’t use vocals) but it’s trash and a mess. You’re awesome though I’m just having a rough time writing poetry or fitting words with my melody but this is still helpful. You’re so talented!!!

Your songs are great! You should consider making songs addressing mental illnesses. I know there are lots of people who struggle with mental illnesses everyday and we need more people to sing about something other than love and sex. I think it would be absolutely outstanding to have more people help us through those rough times.
I’m writing a song called “Why am I like this?” I’m 11 and hope to become a song writer!! I just wanna be able to express my feelings and emotions without being worried and overwhelmed of what they think, Bc everyone likes music so it will help them understand what kids also have to go through no matter how old they are, Bc we get stressed out to and have many worries
