Thanks to youtube all younger people are discovering those gorgeous true supermodels of 80s ,90s!much more quality back in those days than the last 2 decades!
She has so much artistry and elegance in the way how she express certain clothes, whether its couture or ready to wear. She really knows how to sell it. A definite runway extraordinaire...I put her up there with the greatest catwalkers like Yasmeen Ghauri, Naomi Campbell, Karen Mulder, and Helena Barquilla.
Sonia Cole worked a runway like no other. She had so much...it...she oozed it. Long before the Glamazons made their way Sonia was one of the hardest working girls the runway had ever seen. Superstar!
Yaaaassss! Finally someone gives Ms.Sonia her due! She was before Yasmeen&Naomi..Sonia was in the same class as Katchoucha,Kadija,AnnaFiona,Anna Bayle,Dalma,Kirat,Gurmit,Sadiya and the Queen of them all Iman. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
thank you!!! sonia cole was one of, the baddest catwalk DIVAS of the late ‘80’s & early nineties! she’s from the era of dalma, roshumba, marpessa, kimora, ines... pre naomi and the super’s explosion... back when models knew how to, “SHOW THE GARMENT.” it’s funny how you can see her inspiration to tyra (that whole, “look to the left, look to the right... repeat!) so glad to see a brief collection of some of her fierceness on display finally!
"it’s funny how you can see her inspiration to tyra (that whole, “look to the left, look to the right... repeat!)" So true but Tyra's is way too OTT. Sonia is still very subtle...and would not be out of place during haute couture season today!
Never heard of her either. I’m pretty good at early nineties girls. One model I never see mentioned who worked 80s and 90s is Marpessa. She was a muse of Karl Lagerfeld, Gianni Versace and many more. She was around for a very very long time.
She was more "high class" in the fashion world. Tyra Banks was popular at Calvin Klein and Todd Oldham. Sonia Cole did " big" money shows in Paris, France. Valentino , Ungaro, LaCroix and Yves Saint Laurent all used her, when she was young!
Oh wow, I remember her back in the days her walk was flawless! It was her, Dalma, Malpensa and Ana Baily the girls that slay the catwalk. Thanks for making this video.
Ms. Cole and Dalma Callado were my favorites in the 90’s. When I didn’t see my 70’s & 89’s Top Models (Billie Blair, Pat Cleveland, Alva Chin..etc.) these ladies became my top models.
Sonia Cole, a British model, I think, who really put it down on the catwalk. She only did runway, and she was a Haute-Coture model, for Dior, St.. Laurent, Chanel, etc. Her walk is powerful, sassy, and sublime. Now she should be in the ranks of the supermodels.
Thank you for posting, Sonia is amazing, yep she was there with other top models before the birth of the super models era in the 90s. Where is she now?
She is glamourous, exotic and refined. I see ol school 80s double turns that disappeared in the 90s. She is a subtle, gentle and a considerate walker. Not as much presence, fierceness or freshness as yasmeen and naomi but you can't have it all.
She was popular at Valentino and Yves Saint Laurent. She is a biracial women ( like President Obama and Mariah Carey) She was more upper echelon and did European Shows!
Sonia and Yasmeen Ghauri were friends! Sonia was a top 10 runaway model for 5-10 years. Yasmeen Ghauri was considered the top runaway model in the world for about 5 years ( likely the most beautiful lady in the world/ spoiled brat/ LOL)!
I remember her my brothers and I would watch CNN Elsa Clinch on Sundays and see her, Eman, Miss Cleveland, and Roshumba and all the ladies were HOT. I like the way she flips her hair in that last clip.So Hot.
I wanted to know your position on the complaints involving Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington,Azzedine Alaïa , Tom Ford linked to the trafficking of children. As Naomi did not comment on the case and disabled the comments on her profile on Instagram it is difficult to know if it is true or no. I follow your page and others about 90s Supermodels on instagram.
@@Anisahzl she came way before yasmeen, by the time yasmeen was getting started she was retiring and yasmeen didnt have her signature walk in the beginning
Yasmeen is one of my favourites but Sonia was there before Yas.een, she's older and started in the 80s. Especially in Spain. She was one of the stars together with Judith Masco, Celia Forner, Cristina Piaget and Helena Barquilla
