the Sonic 4 adaptation helped me realize why Sonic 4's run animation looks so awkward, and its because its a hella stretched out oval of his normal circle shape lol, good stuff though
One thing I do like with this sprite version though is that for some frames the shoes are visible, making the "smear frame" feel of the animation more believable than the actual Sonic 4 run
To me it JSUT looked like a white and red stretched out slightly transparent oval image just pasted over his shoes and I could still see his shoes jogging
Y'know I was never sure why sonic's legs either just started spinning as if they were wheels or just formed an infinity sign, Either sonic is that flexible and he's been running incorrectly this entire time and only recently improved the way he ran or it's an optical illusion. Y'all I get it now it's an optical illusion ☠️
@@IAmE9030I assumed he meant Sonic Boom (the ROM hack of Sonic 1), which uses Sonic's Advance animations and design in the Genesis game artstyle. It has 3 acts, all in one zone (Power Plant Zone). In the third act, the plant explodes while Sonic is deep inside, and he has to outrun the wall of fire - this is what the "Sonic running for his life" meme is based on.
@@dsrollins79 Not so much uncanny, but I am not used to seeing him walk without his arms so stretched out. Also, keep in mind I changed my opinion from 7 months ago.
Honestly, the S1 looks... Unfinished or something... I dunno, it looks unnaturally jagged or something. I remember others executing S1 animation for S3 Sonic better. Even such hack as "Sonic 1 2.0", I think, did somewhat better job at that (although I assume it probably just rips sprites from a preexisting resource)
I know this has nothing to do with the channel, at the part 5:57 i had a bubble shield and then when i accidentally pressed jump again i was gonna go into the spikes but the little Piranha saved me from it.
You should use the Animation Editor and open character_sonic.json and delete every animation that isn't modified so this mod can be compatible with other mods
Dude, just try out the animations in levels like Mushroom Hill or Angel Island, I wanna see the running animations not you spindashing for the 45th time
It's called a Super Peel Out, hold up and the spindash button to do it. It's in the 2 sequel 8 bit Sonics, Mania, CD, and the remastered version of Sonic 3 in Sonic Origins. The creator of the video is using a mod for Sonic 3, A.I.R, to get it in the original game.
