This could work for an AU I have where the Sonic franchise is so good that SEGA legally owns the world. It starts different with SEGA having better technology and the Genesis having 32 bits instead of 16. Nothing against the classics but just imagine what could have been done with double the bits. They also have better time management skills and push out way more content than the real SEGA and it's all better than the version we got.
