Sonic has reached the innermost chambers of Dr. Robotnik's base on Flicky Island. Only five of the mythical birds remain in the evil doctor's grasp, imprisoned in capsules awaiting to be used in robots. After saving this last group of Flicky's, Sonic races through the final area and engages Robotnik in a vicious three-stage battle. Just when it appears that he is down for the count, Robotnik summons his ultimate weapon, a massive mech suit with several weapons and attacks. The stage is set for the final showdown!
