27:14 Jesus christ man. I loved this cutscene so much. One of the most fleshed out dialogue in the entire game, along with the intensity of the mystery of Shadow's entire existence being in vain. Oh man.
23:56 I wish more people talked about this cutscene. It shows how Eggman’s run out of patience for dealing with Sonic But is still calm and collected enough to act rationally. His line “time to end this long drawn out battle” along with other scenes in the game really gives the impression Sonic Team was uncertain if there would be future games with the Dreamcast going under. So they made sure this could act as an appropriate finale. Even the score is grandiose with that awesome instrumental version of Eggman’s theme which is sadly never played anywhere else. Also his line to shadow “if something happens to me I’m counting on you to finish the job!” shows how much faith and admiration Eggman has in his Grandfather’s creation. It really makes his disillusionment of Gerald Robotnik at the end of the game kinda heartbreaking.
Finally someone gets this scene. Not only is it all you said, but it also sounds very intimidating. I love Mike Pollock, but I am not sure he could pull this scene as good as Bristow did.
Kishin Asura yeah Pollock is amazing at comedy but the only times he’s ever sounded threatening were the Egg Dragoon Fight, And “As long as I can still strangle a zeti, my hands are fine”
The game wasn't any darker than Sonic Adventure, Shadow the Hedgehog, or 06. It only seems that way because of how joke toned Sonic games over the past 9 years have been. I miss the days when the series actually took itself seriously like it did here.
@@arock323497 Sonic only became the joke of the gaming industry in 2010 because of that "comedy route" & we really need a return to form! Back to the Shonen feeling tone that we could actually take seriously. If it doesn't happen this decade, then it's unlikely we'll ever see the Sonic Series return to form.
@@WaterKirby1994 Sonic became the joke of the gaming industry in 2005 and 2006 by releasing terrible games, the games having more comedy-focused stories in the decades later was a reaction to how bad the games were. Serious stories only work if you actually have a good game in there to back it up. Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic 06, and the Storybook games were terrible games, regardless of what you think of their stories.
@@FwendlyMushwoom Shadow's game aged better than Colors. The other 2 Sonic games released in 2005 were Gems Collection & Rush. Ok I admit Rush had its problems like the awful mashing section of Sonic vs Blaze, yet it was well received. Sonic 06 is beyond being just a dead horse at this point & Project 06 is solid. Black Knight was an underrated masterpiece & for a decade it was practically the series swan song. The gameplay was experimental yet decent & the story was what made mastering the playstyle alongside Sonic himself more than worth it.
14:04 I can see this being at the beginning of Sonic Movie 3, to show Shadow's backstory, and as well as GUN entering the ARK and taking Gerald's stuff, and as well as shooting Maria (or possibly her dying from N.I.D.S.)
lol, i believe the editor is implying that Eggman saw a picture of the emerald before the reporter annonced it. it was on the news after all. but I never thought of it the way you wrote "as lazy editing".
Funny thing is there was a callback to it in the Japanese version. In the Japanese version of SA2 Sonic said “I’m stubborn and full of surprises” in both versions of Heroes Sonic repeats that upon finding out Shadow is alive
This was the best representation of eggman goofy but still without a doubt a threat his voice was scary his schemes were scarier but even still he had some goofy moments
I thought it was "Event 7" although it could loop too early in SoundTest. I know Eggman's Theme loops too early in the SoundTest, haven't really checked all the music in the game's soundtrack.
11:57 "Aaah, Amy you're timing is impeccable!" Gross, I never noticed that grammar mistake before. Gosh I want a remake of this so bad! (Hopefully with better voice-acting, where they let each other finish... heck, sometimes they even talk over themselves lol)
I don't really find the fact that characters sometimes talk over each other to be an issue most of the time. When they interrupt themselves, yeah, that's certainly an issue, but especially in the Faker cutscene and the first scene where Rouge introduces herself to Shadow and Eggman, it emphasises the mood - the characters are tense and impatient with each other. In real life, their dialogue wouldn't be precisely cued, timed and written, so it sounds more natural. We'll never get the remake that either of the Adventure games really deserves, not unless it's some kind of Sonic Mania situation, where a team of fans are employed to lead the project. Any professional, regardless of how skilled they are, lacks the years of experience of playing both games, understanding what works, what has potential, what should be axed or altered, what each scene of each story is supposed to be conveying, and just generally a whole lot of passion. It'd be technically good, yes, but unless they get someone who really _knows_ both Adventure games, a remake wouldn't be what it really *needs* to be.
24:10 Eggman: Wait, Shadow I'm the one who should tell that the end is near not you!... Shadow: (Bull shit) Eggman: Now is the time to end this long drawn out battle and place myself in history as the ultimate genius! Is something happens to me, i want you to finsh the job... Shadow: (Fine) Eggman: Hurry the moment of atack has come, is NOW or NEVER!
Oh wait i don’t have twitter it’s just my photos of dead people on mass graves and people covered in white phosphorus like I used it on those stupid astronauts on the moon and oh look it’s my collection of weapons of mass destruction I have nukes Napalm agent orange and so on and so on because I am the most wanted terrorist on this entire planet Hahahahahahahahah
18:45 = Shadow: I found Tails. Do you want me to punish him? Sonic (in Walkie Talkie): No, don't do that. He's had enough. Eggman (in Walkie Talkie): WHY IS SONIC ON THE SAME LINE AS THE VILLIAN LINE!/LI- Reference to Snapcube's RTD. XD
Zonifer 2022 he meant he murdered his own wife which doesn’t have one and along with 47 innocent people and astronauts with his eclipse cannon that has white phosphorus on it and now sonic and his entire army of heroes are gonna hunt him down for his crimes against humanity
28:07 Is it only in this version that the music cuts out and Shadow's theme plays in this scene? I understand that on Dreamcast and PC Rouge's theme just keeps playing.
No that is him having no memory of who he is and now later on the clone of him died for sonic to destroy the bio weapon and now he must destroy the demons in space in his story
Jim Carrey: U thought u could trick me w that fake Emerald didn't u? Tails: So Robotnik, How did you know it wasn't the real 1? Sonic: Tails!!! Jim: BC you just told me FOX Boy!
Eggman started with White Emerald, Shadow stole the Green Emerald, Rouge brought the Blue Emerald, then Rouge grabbed Emeralds 4-6 in Security Hall. It's easy to overlook 1 of them because the game never explains how Rouge & Eggman came into possession of their Emeralds.
I have murdered my own wife oh wait I don’t have one hahahahaha and also I have murdered 47 innocent people and astronauts with my white phosphorus upgrade on my eclipse cannon and now I will fire my weapon on more people on earth. and the moon again if they don’t give me my demands Hahahahahahahahah
Oh wait that was white phosphorus on the moon Hahahahahahahahah hey look at those astronauts burning and oooooo look it’s burned baby Hahahahahahahahah
