The main character from The Samba games is Amigo who is Mexican. The only one who is actually Brazilian is the butterfly from the games, I can’t remember her name tho.
To be fair, Amigo, and Amiga are Mexican, Linda is Brazilian, and I think Rio is Spanish European. On top of that this song is actually from Germany but uses Portuguese lyrics... Confused yet?

Fun fact: Konami remixed this song and called it 'Trance de Janeiro' and put that version in one of the Dance Dance Revolution games. Sega and Konami both couldnt wait to use this song in a rhythm game it seems.
