Shadow the Hedgehog gets Shadow Reloaded. Sonic Free Riders gets a No-Kinect PC patch. The infamous Sonic '06 has a huge overhaul in the form of Project '06. And now It Has Come to This... Really, these go to show there is indeed a mote of golden light in the abyss...
No, it shows that all of those "failed" Sonic Team games could have been great if it wasn't for one or two dumb designs choices that ruin the entire experience.
I really enjoyed playing this when it released for the Wii. The PC port here is just as awesome, but it would definitely help if the camera is zoomed out and angled a bit in some sequences to easily spot incoming obdtacles and terrain. The people working on this are on a roll and I can't wait to see how the full game will look.
Apart from “perhaps” amplifying the effects of both Time Break (Sonic’s supposed to be affected to the same degree as the enemies and hazards) and Speed Break (Sonic’s so fast that everything else becomes an actual blur), this is a VERY solid start!
This looks awesome. Graphics look clean as hell physichs look solid. Im assuming theyll clean up the loose turns in some areas and hopefully they brush up on some animations and visuals like speedbreak but this looks ridiculously good for early development
I have a Wii, both Black Knight and Secret Rings on my HDD. Gotta say, I had more fun playing Secret Rings than BK. It was just so... Unresponsive on the Wii Remote and most of the time it just disconect. Shame cause BK story looks really good but I dread playing it. Hope this incentivate someone to also Remake Black Knight on Pc even if take years.
@@AccelerateHedge it doesn't necessarily work like the boost in unleashed/gens/forces because you can hold the boost for ever in those games and gain a ton of speed. speed break in this seems to work a lot like frontiers boost where he speeds up for a second and then loses his momentum and slows down
@MrFluffy06 I mean, it's definitely an instant burst of speed that you hold and then you go much, much faster. Sounds like a boost to me. And in the OG game you definitely gain speed.
@@HuladeHoopla I'm gonna have to disagree with his base momentum being the same. The lack of skills does hurt but his base speed needs to be addressed. The game looks great just slow. I recommend a side by side so you can see how fast the original is from startup
Alright, after looking back and forth for a good five minutes. I actually see what you mean. It's not a lot slower. In fact in some parts the original was that slow, and it does not look fun. But around the middle, he's moving a tad bit faster but not here. The shimmying speed seems correct though so I assume they need a few things tweaked.
@@HuladeHoopla Yeah like the og seems to have a higher top speed and seems to reach that top speed faster. Like you said just some minor changes and its golden
@Loyalexistance Yea actually that's a perfect way to put it. They seem to be various moments here where he reaches a top speed but only in the automatic sections. To then he snaps back to the default speed. I think they're looking for a balance due to skills, break/slide and speedbreak.
The boost isn’t necessary due to Speed Break existing. Though I definitely agree with faster rail grinding. The demo is still in very early development, so it’ll probably be fixed with the addition of abilities. They also should fix how slippery Sonic is to control, as I found it hard to control him from time to time
