Obviously it's unrealistic but imagine this act was a few minutes long and there was an ending where Sonic outran the black hole. You know Cool that would be to enter Earth's atmosphere running down thermal velocity?
They fumbled the ball. If they made that happen. This would be the best last stage in any sonic game. We need more terminal velocity stages. Like a stage where you enter earth and finish the act back on the planet. Sega. Listen
Only when all emeralds are collected does he turn into super sonic and collects all wisps in the stage to perform a super-light speed blast back to earth, kinography
It doesn't matter how fast Sonic can go. He's literally a 90 pound hedgehog vs a force that literally pulling the ground and Eggman IN his mech. There's a reason why he said "This might not end well" It's like a dog on a tied to a pole. He can move faster than the pole but it doesn't matter since the pole weight more.
I really hope this stage gets expanded upon in Sonic Colors Ultimate, cause it's confirmed stages will be altered and changed, and new wisps will be added. Imagine if they extend Act 2 to where I really feels like Sonic is fighting for his life, cause this is one of the rare scenes in Sonic media where you know for a fact he's running near or at the speed of light.
The original commenter is right about black holes, they have so much weight they literally bend light. Remember that thing is expanding at an incredibly fast rate and is gaining more and more weight. Sonic may be the fastest thing alive, but the chances of him outrunning a black hole are extremely slim. The fact he was able to put that much distance between himself and the black hole is remarkable. No matter how fast he was he was running, he was being pulled by the black hole towards its event horizon due to how much weight it had and was gaining as it destroyed Eggman’s interstellar amusement park. This was what was remarkable about sonic keeping a distance between himself the black hole, as he is running the ground is literally being pulled out from under his feet, and he is running fast enough to not be dragged into the event horizon. The player has to keep running or they will be pulled into the black hole, which adds to the intensity of the level . But the problem is that sonic in the state he was in was never gonna get away from the black hole, either the black hole would have engulfed him (which it ended up doing) or it would have gotten too big to the point it’s gravitational pull would have been too much for sonic to outrun.
Whenever I think about Terminal Velocity Act 2, I imagine what if they did make this a full level. What if sonic DID out run the black hole. A level in which you had to keep boosting by however means necessary, grabbing wisps or doing whatever it takes as your natural speed is not fast enough and the boost is only slightly faster, and you have to dash and make your way back to whatever Sonic’s World is called now. A daunting task for sure, but a very climatic one as the beats of Terminal Velocity blast in your head as you speed down as fast as possible, trying to escape your doom. Good idea?
even with the unlimited boost as it should make you move faster, i think the game is locked at that speed for act 2 of terminal velocity, meaning that even if your supposed to gain a speed boost, it doesn't do so and in turn, doesn't affect the outcome, same scenario every time, that's unfortunate :C
Even with boost, how could sonic outrun a black hole for even a microsecond? He’d have to at least combine his base, super, hyper, and op sonic gen mod speeds just to keep up with its gravity
@@Waterninja20 no its just that the wii cant handle his real speed cause if sonic had his real speed the game would had break but if this was one of those old classic sonic openings or endings he would had outran it in 1 sec
nah he's just fast. he's so fast he doesn't need boost to outrun the black hole. this whole terminal velocity thing is most likely coded to always end the same way, boost or no boost. but we all know with boost he'd be able to survive for longer
@@Waterninja20 but still it depends on how much speed the game can handle like look at the overpowered sonic mod for generations thats actually sonics regular speed
Idk man, Sonic in base form alone has already reached MFTL feats on lots of occasions in the newer games. His most recent game feat going MFTL was when he escaped Null Space... which is impossible to escape from... with just speed alone.
