i have nothing but respect for speedrunners. although i can speedrun stuff normally, i can’t imagine having to put in constant weeks and hours for this stuff. massive W’s all around man

Once again, another banger from DawnSR! What a great video that had me on the edge of my seat. I've been keeping a very close eye to Frontiers' speedruns since release and seeing the time come down and down while new strats are being discovered will always be a thrill. I have this feeling that Frontiers' speedruns could even go faster. There is so much that is yet to be discovered.
Not gonna lie, the game as a Speedrun feels like watching Super Sonic just fly around the island trying to gain speed to ram into the Titans. And that's epic.
I thought DSS with the move found by Dark Spine Sonic while HSP was the method used to skip Kros found by VorganTheBeta. At least, that's what I remember from the early days of Speedrunning. But that's beyond the point, Its so great that we made it to sub 1 hour. Amazing job on the video, Here's to sub 50 min!
Yeah originally that seemed to be the case but the farther we go on, most people just seemed to settle on calling it HSP. I'm sure sub 50 is going to take quite a while unless we can find a really big skip!
Great editing, fantastic video. The use of the game's soundtrack is god-tier. I added this to my playlist of my favorite videos ever. I just wish the sub reminder only came at the end when I was sure that your content was for me. That's when the reminders should kick in; a lot of people even make the mistake of asking for likes and subs before the video starts; no, I don't even know if I like the video, or maybe even who you are, yet, chill! Definitely remind me, but at the end when those things actually matter to me. I want to like things I actually like, and sub to things I want more of, and the reminders really help when used right.
This game's tech may be why Onaku finds this game comfortable; Twilight Princess has its own game breaking fun to be had in any%, but this man also seems to be a fan of No Major Glitches categories, so who knows. Maybe I need to learn more about this guy.
Checking in once in a while, video production is on point. The coming updates for frontiers this year should make the speedruns more interesting, more ways to break the game
This game might be up there with Ocarina of Time with using advanced tech to break the game in fascinating ways that may be hard for the layman to understand (Check 100% SRM if you want to know what I mean; ZFG's world record is one of my favorite speedruns ever) and it is absolutely beautiful. It makes me want to try it, even though the idea of so many techniques coming together seems to be unreachable to me. Just awe-inspiring work from all involved, both in finding and executing. I just hope it never falls into the same routing hell that 100% SRM has been in for the past two years 😂
Homing Attack Cancel is actually pretty far down on the list of names lol. There is Hitting the Griddy (meme), Magnet Dash (Reference to Spark 3 similar tech), and Homing Dash (Sega Speed Strats name) all before that.
i wonder how much more the record can lower, some games take decades to get sub hour but this one? honestly in like 10 years i wouldn't be shocked if it somehow hit sub 30, though 40-50 is far more likely with diminishing returns lol
If I had to guess, I would say 55 will be where we’ll hit in the first year or two and I can maybe see sub 50 eventually. Unless we get another full island skip or some really broken duping glitch I don’t think the game will go too much lower than that.
@@DawnSRC we'll just wait and see, i do hope to see many more broken glitches, but i also wouldn't be surprised if this was close to the peak, newer games tend to get their big speedrun kick right at the beginning of its life.
Yeah! I’ve been meaning to play Spark, got a backlog going currently and it’s pretty high on the list. (OneShot > Hollow Knight > Spark/HiFi Rush) Might even make some Spark videos if I think the run looks interesting 👀
I used to speedrun frontiers but I only speedrun games that's fun to speedrun. Frontiers is a fun game but the problem I have with speedrunning is the amount of stuff you skip in the game. You skip 2 whole islands and most strats are almost frame perfect and it's more annoying. I could try glitchless speedruns where I'm not allowed to use HSP or magnet dash
The funny thing is most tricks aren't really frame perfect anymore because of Slingshot! Also if you don't like skipping two of the Islands you could always try out NMG like you mentioned or even just do a run where you don't do Island Skips "All Chaos Emeralds" or something.
@@DawnSRC I'll just play the game casually. I will only skip the islands if I wanna play the titan boss only for kronos and ares. I already have my 100% save for supreme, and pinball save for knight
