Man this was so haunting. Mind you this is going on while the creepy voice is telling you how “this is the end and all will be destroyed etc.”. Then as the battle progresses it builds and becomes hopeful and optimistic despite the boss getting angrier and more aggressive.
But this is what The End says in the English dub. In the Japanese version, The End tells you that he is the orchestrator, the one that guides life to its end, and at the end of the battle, The End ask you what did you achieve in life, his monologue is more like a philosophical monologue than a Evil Monologue

Honestly I thought this fight was gonna be like a better version of that one where u play as super sonic as he defends the golem and then you switch control to the golem to deal damage to the boss
*Your telling me that **_THE DOCTOR EGGMAN,_** the one whos killed millions in Sonic Unleashed and narcissist extraordinaire, who doesn't need anyone is just lonely and looking for a daughter of all things!?* Ugh! They got me somewhat attached to Sage, a computer of all things, but then the badly written sacrifice scene happens... She doesn't even say if "The End" exploring will destroy anything... So it's like she killed herself for nothing... Sadly, this is the last time we will see Sage is person... What is going on with the Sonic series!? Don't get me wrong Sage is an excellent character and absolutely adorable, but this relationship with Eggman cannot stand in future games... I really don't see Sage just tagging along Orbot and Cubot... I think this is going to be a bad idea in retrospect...
Didn't You see the postcredit scene? Eggman is working on his computer and then the strange symbol that appear in the sky when we realese the kokos's souls. After the symbol appear in the computer screen we hear Sage saying "Father?" and Eggman replies "That's My daughter. Si we wiil see Sage in future games
@@djunsusteiner I said "in person"... Can't you read? Sage's body was created by cyberspace we will never see Sage outside of a computer again. This is also a common trope in anime and even Metroid did this with thier Adam character...o
I disagree, eggman now has moved on outside himself and his actions may be motivated now to give sage a body, etc etc. A common trope about Family bonds, but you always see how powerful a parent and child bond can push a parent to push em to their limits. As eggman watches the debris, he clenches his fist. Indicates that he is resolved in the next action that he must take. That after credit scene is only a first step. Sage sacrifice was the final step fpr her as a character to gain a soul. Well have to wait for the story dlc to see whats up though, but thats what I got based on the media i usually watch
