On their way to the mysterious Starfall Islands, Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles "Tails" Prower first have to pick up their friend, Amy Rose. Too bad Amy's in the middle of a brawl with Dr. Eggman's badniks! What’s Eggman doing here and why is he acting strangely? These are just the first mysteries in this exclusive prologue to the game, Sonic Frontiers!

It seems like the games are trying to take Eggman in a new direction. If the comics adapt the game this could tie in with Eggman his dorment Tinkerer personallity as well as the legacy of the Tinkerer, Belle.

Weird getting a new Sage voice IMMEDIATELY after getting used to her actual VA. Nothing you could have done about it tho, except maybe wait well far after something like this would be acceptable. Good job guys!

Yeah unfortunately I didn't have any way of knowing which of the "AI" voices in the game was actually speaking in this comic - not until the game actually came out, at least. I initially assumed it was the voice that asked Sonic to find the Chaos Emeralds, and those recordings were deeper. When it turned out to actually be Sage, Anjo went ahead and re-recorded the dialog to match her a little better. Thanks for the kind words regardless!

She certainly still has feelings for him, and Sonic doesn’t reciprocate those feelings completely. They’re potential as a couple is more subtle than being the bulk of their relationship, as Sonic and Amy, at this point (in IDW comics and Frontiers) have matured much over the years. Amy’s learned she can’t keep Sonic’s free spirit down, so she’ll love him from afar, but has learned they’re relationship doesn’t always have to be a romantic one. Any has certainly grown over the years from a one track minded love interest. She had so many more qualities and desires to her personality in the comics and Frontiers than she did before.

I wonder if this happened to Rouge, E-123 Omega, Sliver and Blaze? When Sliver travel to the Sol Dimension, he would meet Blaze and investigate the ruins in Coral Cave. Blaze can see Sliver disappeared to the Portal, she get transported to Ares Island. While Sliver get sent to Rhea Island, he believes that Eggman Nega is taking vengeance on him. Then he see some metal minions, and he thought and beat them with Homing Attack, Psycho Smash and Psychic Knife. But then he could get trapped in the cage. On Ares Island, while Blaze is searching for Sliver, he finds Sage with one of the Cyber Beasts before it attack her. When she woke up, she would found herself trapped in the cage. After that, Rouge and E-123 Omega arrived at the Starfall Islands to investigate what Eggman is up to.

No, this was published under IDW. If you didn't know, IDW has been publishing Sonic comics since 2018. They're on like issue 56. If you like Sonic, I highly recommend reading them.
