@@KaleSTUDIOS I mean, no? What he said was true, and it’s well documented. SEGA split 06’s development team in half so that one half could work on Secret Rings. They also rushed it out for an early Christmas release date. I guarantee that if it had an extra year of development time it would’ve been better. Ultimately I think a lot of the concepts and ideas wouldn’t have been able to be realized on 7th gen consoles. So Project 06 has the benefit of having more accessible and more powerful tech than what they had in 2006, plus all the time in the world to development the game, which is a luxury the original development team didn’t have. I blame SEGA for the way 06 turned out. Sonic Team would’ve worked hard on it if it weren’t for SEGA rushing the team to push it out that year.
@@generalflux2344 With an extra year It would have been better sure, but not good. A polished Sonic 06 would still be the worst 3D Sonic game. It’s problems go far beyond that.
@@KaleSTUDIOS What? lol A polished 06 would definitely not be the worst 3D Sonic game. Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, Sonic Lost World 3DS, Sonic Forces. Those three alone are worse than a polished 06. You can dislike 06’s story if you want, but to say that it would be the worst 3D Sonic game is just ridiculous.
Never be surprised when it comes to peelout, I genuinely think he’s one of the best modders lol, all of his work feels so passionate and great, I can’t wait for this mod to come out
This and Project 06 demonstrate how much closer Sonic 06 was to perfect Sonic gameplay than literally every game that came after it, including Frontiers.
Sonic 06: A game everyone and their mother swears is the worse game mankind ever devised and will swear on their own grave that it’s an irredeemable mortal sin. Yet people make plenty of mods about it. I love that irony. As as staunch 06 lover seeing stuff like this makes me happy.
06 is a buggy mess with a terrible story, physics that don’t promote speed, and awful controls. Some of the level design and art are pretty decent though so that’s why it’s even still acknowledged. The OST is great too.
Playing the ACTUAL Sonic 06 on its console it’s such a shit game imo man. The difference between this and something like Forces is that 06 had soul and people see a POTENTIAL good game in it (which I see too!)
@@danielsaix2160 I'm playing 06 now for the 1st time. It is absolutely awful at times, but it has enough moments of being average to keep me playing through it. And the gameplay is (barely) close enough to Sonic Adventure. Sonic Unleashed imo is the worst Sonic, I ended up reselling that to the game store. Its a lot less glitchy than Sonic 06, but also felt less responsive and more of a chore to play.

Cool stuff. This highlights a few things: 1. How well Sonic 06’s art style holds up even to this day 2. How little Sonic Team has invested in improving rendering technologies. (Frontiers still looks like it’s out of 2011) 3. How terrain traversal can still be slow even while boosting
