Biolizard is a good example of why the boost formula sometimes uses 2D sections in its games. It's basically a better version of the original fight because it takes away the nonsense of having to avoid blundering into the sand that surrounds the arena and the depth perception on fuzzy electricity balls.
You couldn't fall into the sand though. There was always an invisible barrier around the arena. All of the improvements to this boss have nothing to do with the perspective change, and outside of those small changes, it's the exact same boss fight.
@@SHMOUSEY86 really because I remember an insta death when I fell into the sand in the original and I fought it yesterday Unless you are talking about the generations 3DS version
@@MarioFaker1 no there used to be a gap in the arena where the liquid flowed through, but even that wasn't an Insta kill since you could jump out of it. The arena has an invisible wall on the outside of it, though.
@@SHMOUSEY86 I see what you mean now but for me the only water part I fell into was the one away from the master emerald shrine which I was against the wall and that’s an insta kill
I think that is because sonic generations was coming to the psp too but that's a rumor since there isn't much information from that guy with a psp prototype
These are the zones and bosses that need to be included in Sonic Generations 2: Zone 1: Emerald Hill - Sonic 2 Zone 2: Marble Zone - Sonic 1 Zone 3: Hydrocity - Sonic 3 Zone 4: Green Forest - Sonic Adventure 2 Zone 5: Wacky Workbench - Sonic CD Zone 6: Rail Canyon - Sonic Heroes Zone 7: Asteroid Coaster - Sonic Colors Zone 8: Red Mountain - Sonic Adventure Zone 9: Skyscraper Scamper - Sonic Unleashed Zone 10: Lava Mountain - Sonic Lost World Zone 11: Eggman Empire Fortress - Sonic Forces Zone 12: Titanic Monarch - Sonic Mania
hydrocity was already (kinda of) redone in Sonic Mania, I don't think they will do it. Anyway, it would be cool to see - Sonic vs Blaze (rival battle, from Sonic rush) - Carnival night (from Sonic 3): So we could have some kind of gag involving the BARREL OF DOOM (yeah, you know WHAT I'm talking about) - Ice cap (could be a mix between Sonic 3 and Sonic Adventure's versions) - Some of Sonic Mania original levels - The Great Eggman Robo and Metal Sonic from Sonic And Knucles 3 (bosses) - Wing fortress (Sonic 2) - Mushroom Hill Zone (from Sonic 3) - Sonic Master system/Game gear levels - Wind Valley (Sonic adventure) - Casinopolis or Casino night Zone. its been a time since we dont get a casino level - Toxic caves (sonic spinball) - Silver sonic (Rival battle, from Sonic 2) - Angel island (from Sonic 3 and Sonic adventure, is not a zone in SA but still) - The boss from Titanic Monarch (but I would rather not having the zone, I just hate titanic monarch, but its because is knda confusing and long so if they do it better than in sonic mania I would be fine with it) And probably more It would be nice to see Lava Reef and Flying battery too (both from SnK3, but I dont think we will get them remade so soon, since we already got them in Sonic mania a short time ago) The zones that I DONT want to see again are Green Hills and Chemical plant, we already have enough versions of them. Remember when you could get to play Green Hills in Sonic Adventure 2 if you had all the emblems and it was cool because the zone was never remade? Now is just "Oh, green hills... again. cool I guess".
Ok about the rivals fight's Metal sonic Console version: Stardust Speedway 3ds version: Casino Night zone Shadow Console version: The ark 3ds version: Radical highway Silver Console version: Crisis city 3ds version: Tropical resort
Fun fact: the Biolizard only has an original roar in its cutscenes in the original SA2. Every other time, it reuses Perfect Chaos’ in the original and in Generations, it uses the screech of the Dark Gaia Phoenix.
I think the Metal Sonic race in the 3DS version looks better than the fight in the original version because... 1. In Sonic CD you can’t fight Metal Sonic and instead have to race him 2. In the original version of Generations, Metal Sonic is really cute But the bad part about the race in the 3DS version is you do it in Casino Night Zone
The Sonic Colors stage used DS exclusive Wisps, so... Anyway, I always thought the Rival Races in 3DS made more sense than the Rival Battles in the console version: For 3DS it can be assumed that Eggman brought Metal with him, Shadow was dragged in along with either Biolizard or Radical Highway, and Silver was dragged in with the DS version of Tropical Resort. They then proceed to race you in areas that have already been pulled into the Void. In "Console" Generations you challenge Metal in the Void then suddenly you're racing through Stardust Speedway (Bad Future). How and why? That doesn't appear to be among the erased areas? Shadow is also in the Void because reasons (he wasn't at your birthday party) then suddenly you're on the Ark. Again, how and why? Did he Chaos Control himself into the Void just to challenge you? How did he even know about the Void, and if he's going to go to such lengths to challenge you immediately then why not face you somewhere in the Void or any of the erased areas it contains (ex. City Escape) since you're both already there? Silver is the only "Rival" that makes sense in the context of "Console" Generations "story". At least the Boss exclusive areas such as Sonic 2's Death Egg Zone or Station Square (Ruined) are accessed through giant time portal things, thereby connecting them to the setting of the rest of the game.
@@traktor420 I disagree. I replay Generations 3DS every now and again but I completed console Generations once and have no intentions of replaying it. While I can understand why the 3D Boost style gameplay is enjoyed by a portion of the fanbase I, having played and completed both Unleashed and Generations to give it a shot, am certainly not one of those people. I found the 3DS Modern Sonic's Rush style gameplay *way* more enjoyable and I found 3DS Classic Sonic's physics and control to be more accurate to his era and therefore more enjoyable (console Classic feels more Adventure-ish but 2D). Sure some of 3DS Classic's levels have less than stellar level design but it's not godawful as is often claimed (internet is rampant with hyperbole) and the better physics make up for the flaws they actually have. tl;dr Opinions are opinions and ours differ.
How is it not canon? It literally has exclusive wisps that appear in the final cinematic of the Wii, and it could easily have happened at the same time.
Later pieces of concept artwork for Metal Sonic show him with pretty much the same design as his final design, albeit with white pupils instead or red ones. Chances are the decision to change the pupil color was done later in development, and the idea to edit the sprites of Metal Sonic was either forgotten about or deemed unnecessary for some reason.
