Don't think anyone will care about this, but i really like how sonic goes on the ramps to do tricks while shadow just goes on the track, kinda shows the contrast in situations like these
I still don't get what this fight is. I do get what the objective is: Collect the energy sphere, get power up, beat Shadow. But what i don't get is what the heck the power up even is at the first place. Why is it just a random purple sphere that we've never seen in this franchise before?
@@Wattson19 My best guess is that is just some kind of gameplay-exclusive chaos energy that represents them charging up to unleash their respective attacks
@@ignis9216 That makes sense. However, this random energy sphere could be easily replaced by a Chaos Emerald. This would even be coherent with the story of this game, where Sonic has to defeat his rivals in order to collect the Chaos Emeralds that are with them.
I love how this boss’ style aligns with the circumstances in SA2. You’re just running. Sonic needs to get to the eclipse cannon as fast as possible. Stopping Shadow isn’t the objective at all, he’s just an obstacle that Sonic needed to overcome in order to save the Earth in time. (Before getting to the best Final Story in any Sonic game)
@@jelloistasty Maybe the final chaos control restored it. I remind you that while the ARK entered the atmosphere it was disintegrating, losing pieces, after the chaos control it was completely intact
@mfulunguanamanuelsebastiao4325 The prototype (biolizard) had became one with the arc at that point, so they definitely didn't restore it. Otherwise, they'd have inadvertently restored the prototype. The chaos emeralds can bring back the dead (Sonic 06), so restoring the arc should extend to the prototype.
@mfulunguanamanuelsebastiao4325 I'm just busting your balls, I'm sure we're not meant to think about it too much. The only thing that makes sense would be that the chaos emeralds gives them the power to repair machinery as they see fit, so they made a focused effort to only repaired the ark and not the prototype. But then I'd ask why, why would either of them want to repair the weapon that can destroy earth. Sonic definitely wouldn't, and shadow now wants to protect the earth. They would be better off not repairing the ark if they wanted to keep earth safe (shadow didn't know about the black arms yet). I just think it's funny, some of these plot details are either extremely complex or straight-up nonsense.
Well, specifically, it's related to Ring Energy (as shown by the Unleashed boost meter), which is the same energy that sustains Super Forms, so maybe that could in turn be related to Chaos Energy...? But in general, it utilizes Ring Energy.
@@sonicdml4175 sonic is a character that’s shown in other media as someone full of chaos energy. Ring energy still has something to do with chaos energy as well in the comics. In the Archie comics, Sonic is basically the chosen one of this thing called the chaos force - you’ve probably heard of it so I won’t explain. You could say that they aren’t canon, and you’d be right, but knowing that the comics, the movies, and even sonic x use mostly see Sonic using chaos/ring energy instead of anyone else who has been able to definitely says something. I think it’s also worth mentioning that whenever Sonic goes Super, the Boost Bar stays at 100%, no matter the rings you have. I don’t think it’s ring energy. And besides, ring energy is comparable to chaos energy in other media as I said before.
@khaos-koral All fair points, and also, Sonic has triggered a super form more than every other character combined used any forms, so Sonic *definitely* has some Chaos.
Just realized the chaos emerald you get from this boss fight is the same one seen in Dark Beginings. Shadow had it the WHOLE time. What an insane detail!
Do you even have to ask, especially since Shadow is Sonic's biggest rival and the one who can keep up with Sonic the most? Shadow is so powerful that he has some wins against Sonic, Sonic always has to be on toes if Shadow needs to go through him. Anything that Sonic can defeat Shadow can defeat. His Ultimate Lifeform status isn't something to underestimate even if he overestimates himself greatly. Easily in Sonic's Top 3 Hardest Characters to beat in his universe.
@@dawnstar9557shadow canonically never beat sonic. Only once in a non canon timeline in shadows game, which he fought sonic while having access to multiple chaos emeralds
Never thought I’d get the chance to be this guy but… Who’s here after sonic x shadow generations (pause) had been announced? Also no silver is just weird
1:20 the best part of the whole boss is when live and learn starts playing (if your watching this in 2024 and reading my comment live and learn will be in the Sonic 3 movie)
I have played this game before. But now, I finally get to see the new trailer of Sonic Generations. But this time, with Shadow the Hedgehog stepping in the scene.
Me personally Shadow, I wouldn't of let Sonic purposely lag behind just to hit me with style then immediately catch up in two seconds and let him defeat me with some meteorites then have me posing like a beat up family guy character. That just me tho.
