That line basically undercuts the entire idea they were going for in Shadow the Hedgehog, and is among the many reasons I consider that game a character assassination
@@FectoStyle4433 The entire premise of Shadow the Hedgehog at its outside is based on Shadow being concerned with his past and identity to the point he could turn against Earth to figure it out. Regardless of how it ends, the inciting premise is in direct contradiction to this line and Shadow as he is here despite that game coming immediately after Heroes.

I still to this day wonder why they ditched the homing attack sound effect from Sonic heroes, it was the only homing attack that sounded like you were actually attacking something at super Sonic speeds it just felt so powerful.
@@90AMason It's meant to be because Omega's a robot he talks using unnatural words, kinda like a robot saying "affirmative" instead of yes like a normal person, he says "descend" rather than "go down"

Sonic heroes has to be rewritten. It could have been the best game. It’s the perfect tone for a standard sonic franchise game. It just needs better controls, and every team should have taken completely different paths and levels with the only same stage being the final egg fleet/armada/fortress, the eggman boss, and metal overlord. Sonic heroes has a total of 7 (I think) different zone types, with the last one being eggman’s fleet. Instead, sonic heroes should have had a total of almost 24 zones. 6 zones specifically dedicated to each team. So team sonic would be the only ones to play through the main stages. For team boss battles, you can have the other teams also travel/pass through that city and cross paths with whichever team they crossed paths with in the original game/storyline

@The Enchiladdy I 100% agree. Eggman’s little speech at the start of this level as well as the characters’ respective responses are all good examples already. This game gets flack for it’s light tone being a shift from Adventure 1 and 2’s, especially relative to the latter, but I can’t emphasize enough how a serious tone and convoluted story *DON’T* automatically equal quality writing. Sonic has always been known for his one liners, and this game has some of his best and honestly have infected the rest of the cast too, everyone has memorable lines here. People often think that a lot of moments are meant to be taken seriously and are ruined by stuff like cheesy acting and ridiculous situations, when in reality it’s the writers taking full advantage of the fictional world and characters. Heck, Eggman himself is a memorable villain not because of his menacing moments, but rather his ridiculous inventions, design, and moments, and I can assure you that that is *not* a bad thing. In conclusion, cheese is life and people shouldn’t be turned off by it.
