shaun03a Well, at least we even have the song playing over this. Though, can you imagine if the song was playing over the attacks? That'd sound amazing! I hope someone makes a version with that happening now that I think of it. XD
.. The fact they didn't let the song play in the background until the final blow is a goddamned mystery to me. It literally sounds like a final attack every team blast
That one is my second favorite while the number one is, "The present day, the here and now that you've stolen... TIME TO TAKE IT BACK!" And the third is, "Let's see how long you can keep up that big attitude!" Sonic with his cockiness is still so fun to see, there can be times where he's over confident but when it is shown in a perfect way, it pays off so damn well man I love it
A little known trivia about Metal Overlord is an unused line for Espio that indicates that he also copied the Shinobi Chameleon's invisibility, but was scrapped in the final version. I guess due to technical limitations of programming something as huge as Metal Overlord wasn't possible for the Xbox, Playstation 2, and Gamecube at that time or maybe time constraints.
@@tsyumamatsuthehavenofguard32 probably to make it difficult to see the Metal Overlord but according to the unused line from Espio that he mentions an opening when he would strike.
I like how Metal Overlord has three attacks, one to be countered by each character type - the crystal waves can be negated by Sonic and the giant battleship by Knuckles, and the missiles can be avoided by changing altitude as Tails. Also, obligatory complaint about the music cutting out for the Team Blast, along with the lack of Super Tails and Super Knuckles.
I don't mind Super Tails and Super Knuckles being absent, but I agree with the music being muted by the team blast! I wish it didn't do that. Probably the only drawback I have with this final boss.
I wish they had a super model rather than just an aura around them. Also, I didn't know this, but Metal can also use Chaos Control. I think when I played this game I didn't know he could that bc I didn't know what chaos control was at the time
"Hmph! You actually thought you could defeat me by transforming into a monster?!" After seeing Nazo Unleashed, it was almost strange to hear that line from its source.
Metal Overlord Sonic was the toughest Final Boss to defeat in reality. Because unlike the bosses before and after he didn’t have a weak point anywhere on his body! Only team blast could injure him...
@@nikoskonstantinidis4069 i mean, me and my sister were only about 9 and 10 when we played it, so we probably didnt really have the gaming capacity back then. But we tried all the teams but mainly played Team Chaotix.
@@genrija8596 when I played the game. only sonic's team was the most far I completed, it was unforgettably the casino. but at least I played with the team until the team vs team
Still to this day I haven't experienced this boss even though I played this when I was like 5 and I'm 14 now. The game is just so damn hard but I love it more than any sonic game ever
@@danielbryan7619 it's slippery as all hell and the special stages kept kicking my ass I got back to playing it again and I am doing A WHOLE LOT better now Just this game feels a bit weird to control at the start
is not hard she is super easy when i was on your ages and i play her for first time she was hard for me too but now when i m big i will finish it her like speed run if i want she is super easy you just need to learn how to finish her noob kid
I'm sorry, I'm being 100% honest what I'm about to say. This is an awesome fight but it looks like Shadow is about to make fighting this boss 100 times more epic.
Metal Sonic: Guoooo! Why? I've had it all! I'am the ultimate overlord, Metal Sonic. I'am the real Sonic! Me: No, you're not! Victory: We rock, we roll, we juice and we jam!
This boss is near impossible on the PS3 port of the Ps2 version. It’s almost impossible to grab the balloons on your way past them, like there’s an invisible wall preventing you from getting them. If you’re lucky you can get 3 team blasts before your defeated. Thankfully the team blast doesn’t stop the music in that version!
bro I had a nightmare when I was little and metal overlord was in it I didn’t even know what sonic heroes was or the metal overlord at the time like bruh
2:28 the team blast always literally scared me idk why but they look so menacing but cool at the same time maybe because they literally stopped the music
Metal Sonic: Calls Sonic his loathsome copy. Also Metal Sonic: Says he was created for the sole purpose of destroying Sonic, which implies he was made after Sonic.
Tails: I think you can blast through his Crystal Attack using your speed! Sonic, you can do it! Yeah, we did it! Knuckles: We're with you until the end! Phew, that was pretty tough! Sonic: Hmph! You actually thought you could defeat me by transforming into a monster? Too bad it's all over...for YOU! Metal Sonic: Guooooo! Why?! I had it all!
Metal Overlord uses Crystal Attack in Sonic Heroes. Giant Nigel uses Spit Attack in Working title "Sonic Rio" (A spiritual successor to Angry Birds Rio).
Tbh the Team Blast animation really kills the hype and pacing of the boss fight. Would it have been so hard to make it so it didn't do the animation seperately?
Shadow The Jedi he has amnesia he probably doesn't remember and even if he did I doubt sonic would let him since he almost died last time he went super
dude, they had the whole game with Sonic being with his team, why would he just suddenly think Shadow would be good in this fight? and like the other guy said, he has amnesia
Well it’s not really my favorite song in this game. “Why is it not your favorite crush 40 song” you may ask? Just listen to how it gets interpreted by team blast. 1:16
Yeah, Zero ain't beating that. More of a Megaman fan then an X fan (Nintendo kid), but the Z blade isn't doing more damage then an extended beat down from three Super forms..
@@kanemccarthy1979 that might be different now since Sonic has gotten stronger since the dreamcast era + Heroes I'd assume he was still at best city level in his super form in Heroes since it doesn't take place that long after Sonic Adventure In Generations Sonic was capable of defeating Chaos in base form so it's likely base form Sonic currently would be on par to his super form in the dreamcast era or even above seeing as Super Sonic just calmed down chaos instead of out rught defeating him in Generations. So I assume Super Sonic currently could defeat Metal Overlord, I'm not sure how many times more powerful Super Sonic is (I heard it's a 1000 times multiplied from base form but idk if that's true as I couldn't find it on any source) but if he's at least three times stronger than his base form then I believe that current Super Sonic alone could defeat Metal Overlord ....either that or I'm completely wrong and looked too deep into this XD
@@rubyrogers8879 I'm pretty sure sonic could've always best chaos in his base form actually it was said that sonic became super sonic with the intention of neutralising perfect chaos' negative energy so I don't think sonic has gotten stronger (or maybe he has considering what he told infinite)
