Why do I get a feeling that the moment they accept it fully is where Mimic and Clutch going to do the whole reveal and force them into going into line with their plan while everyone else isn’t the wiser to the rouse
Tails: "I've learned from experience that if you're looking for something someone is hiding, always check the trash!" (Tails, you make Microwave Boy proud)👍
The Look on Lanolin's face when the glass broke. it was like she was horrified and probably realised what she had done in her zeal to catch the phantom rider
This is what we’re talking about she fears failure which is why she tries this hard but ultimately this is what happens when you push. She needs to know when to let go.
@@justynhill4814 well, it's the first step towards redemption, but she's probably still gonna come off as a bit harsh during the arc, until the inevitable reveal/exposure of Mimic
@@theajaxs720 probably not straight off the bat though, realistically speaking, though it's a start, and at least she's not coming off as hateful...this time
@@playerback7722 the synopsis for issue 73 said something about Surge and Kit cooking up a trap of their own. this heroic appearance might have something to do with it
I'm surprised by Surge's reaction to her being a heroes. Suddley Jet had another target on the Surge and Kit. The page I'm reacting if Jewel looks like she's planning and probably had an eye on Duo no Mimic . Belle is finally going to explain what happened after she was tied up.
@@SonicBoss1991 the phantom rider saved that rider after the glass cracked, courtesy of Lanolin, by accident of course, and she shows some remorse at least. that same rider will probably come in handy once Amy, Tails and Sonic get on the wrong side of the law
This comic has been really excited! I’m surprised to see Belle in the end. Something tells me that Belle knows and will explain what Clutch and Mimic (aka “Duo”) have been doing. The Phantom Rider situation has gotten me sitting on the edge of my seat, and can’t wait to see how Sonic will evade Clutch and Mimic’s attempts. Surge and Kit may have their time to shine as “heroes,” so perhaps new issues could lead them to become anti-heroes or let them continue to be villains. I’m not sure, it’s hard to say, but I do like Surge’s smile. I am also hoping that once it gets out to the open, Lanolin will realize that her teammates and allies were telling the truth, and will have her own character development: meaning that she could reflect on what she did wrong, learn from her mistakes, and become a better person, team leader, and ally.
1. Surge and Kit get to experienced joy for the first time, this will impact them in later issues during this whole thing 2. Jewel seems to be getting suspicious, GOOD! 3. Jet’s jealous of Surge 4. Belle getting kidnapped makes sense, she’s a repairer so she would’ve maybe saw what was going on!
Jet is more pissed than being jealous because that’s not how he actually is This was supposed to be a victory but it feels like nothing more than a waste of time for him Because it doesn’t feel like victory for him
Surge n’ Kit getting a taste of redemption, Jewel’s starting to sense something amiss, Tails and Amy just might have the truth in their grasp… Looks like things are finally starting to look up for our heroes
yep. in fact, she may have actually been suspecting Duo since issue 64, because she knows Silver and Whisper well, and was simply playing a long con test when she hired Duo as her office helper. It would be even better if she had consulted Whisper beforehand, with Tangle present, and let them in on it, because while consulting, they remembered Whisper's mask's recording ability and find images of Duo kicking Silver, but decide to play it safe and keep Lanolin in the dark, due to her current behaviour
Surge and Kit both got to experience the feeling of being seen as heroes instead of villains. I'm actually happy they got to experience something that was really positive. Makes me think they could be neutral like Shadow.
This issue was AWESOME! Here are my comments! 0:51 The introduction of the Phantom Rider was so cool! And his rivalry with Jet is even better! 2:01 I loved the mention of Prison island! 2:55 Great job, Lanolin! You almost got people killed! 3:15 And just when i thought the rivalry between the PR and Jet wasn't awesome enough, here comes Surge! 3:30 PR getting his mask damaged kinda reminded me of an episode of Megaman Fully Charged... 3:47 I love how Kit is always the reasonable one. 4:28 Seeing Surge and Kit happy made my day! 5:17 I don't know what to say about Jewel's expression here... 5:20 Clutch and Duo (Mimic) already lost importance for me. 7:27 And for that person who was complaining that Belle wasn't going to be in this arc, there you go!
That moment with Lanolin was thankfully more of a whoops moment than a despisable moment, as she never intended to break the glass, and she knows it, judging by her facial expression
I knew Belle was going to be involved in this arc, but I wasn’t expecting her to be tied up. I wonder what she knew that made Clutch do that. Surge and Kit seem to enjoy being viewed as heroes, so this might be their first step towards actually redeeming themselves. I can’t help but notice that Jewel actually seems suspicious of Duo after he leaves. Perhaps Clutch underestimated her.
This might not end well once everyone find out about Phantom Rider's identity. At best they would call Sonic an attention freak, obsessed with being in a center of everything, like a race he was no longer a part of. At worst they would call him a jerk, who despite every noble intention he trusts his archenemy more than his friends, because he did not tell them what he suspected and instead he took the doctor's offer, ruining their trust in him. If that's Eggman's endgame, next to ruining Clutch's plans, then once again we see how the doctor is truly smart and devious when not childish.
1. I don't know why but... Seen Surge smiling made me feel very happy 🙂 2. I have a prediction: Surge and Kit will have a redemption arc and at the end they will help Sonic and the gang to stop Clutch and Mimic once and for all, explaining the synopsis on issue #73. However on the other hand, Lanolin will became a plot twisted villain who secretly worked for Clutch as a secret agent, and also she knew who Duo really was and was only pretending to not know him, and also she would reveal to be in reality MIMIC'S SECRET GIRLFRIEND, explaining why she always defended him on issue #63 & #64 (Nah just kidding XD)
Just as long as he's not evil; I've had enough of the sanctimonious, borderline evil Sonic that popped up several times from Issues 6-55 to last a life time!
Well so far so good. The Phantom Rider ruse got Tails and Amy in and “Phantom” got to wound Jet’s ego! And on top of that, Bootwire and Angerfier got a taste of the limelight; maybe this could get to legitimately turn over a new leaf. Of course bad news is that Clutch is gonna have Mimic look into this, and Lanolin gonna double down HARD the next Phantom appears.
I love how this is going. Lanoline is starting to realize that if you concentrate too much on one thing, you will miss the bigger picture(Trying to detain Sonic/Phantom Rider then the glass breaking), Jewel is starting to realize that Duo and Clutch may not be who they seem to be. As for Belle being locked in a locker, that was probably done because she witnessed the tampering of Team Sonic's Ex-Gear and is also awear of Clutch's true nature.
Yeah, that's pretty much what Sonic learned 15 issues ago. He was trying to hard to foster the perceived "good" in Eggman and Metal Sonic (he also told Surge, when they first met, that he was willing to do the same for Starline), that he failed to account for the people he was LETTING them hurt.
@@videogollumer And I remember what you said about Tangle's character development during the urban warfare arc, and she'll need to have the courage to outright chew out Lanolin and compare her to Starline. Whisper had character development during urban warfare arc, and deserves some more in the current arc; even though she has yet to speak, I'm thinking it'll involve her getting back on Mimic's trail, while at the same time dealing with Surge and Kit, ending in a rematch between her and Surge, with Whisper not only winning, but learning not to be reliant on her wisps, and in the process, both sides come to an understanding of each other. As for Jewel, I'm willing to bet that she decided to actually look into Duo after Whisper and Silver's accusations in issue 64, because she knows them and they're her friends, and simply hired Duo to help in her office so she can study and test him. it would be even better if she consulted Whisper beforehand, with Tangle present, and in the process, see the image of Duo kicking Silver on her mask, and lets them both in on it
@@RobertJames-i8j I don't think Tangle knew Starline well enough to make that comparison. Personally, I'd like to see her tail-punch Lanolin in the face, but I'm not exactly EXPECTING that to happen either.
6:04 Was that experience Amy's birthday party? Also seeing Surge surprised at the praise was kind of nice. I know Ian Flynn doesn't want her to just stay a bad guy, but I kind of like seeing she's learning to like something other than beating people up... Getting praise for beating people up!
Fun Fact: Just like Sonic's color of _Blue_ is opposite to Mario/Knuckles _Red_ Surge's color of _Green_ is opposite to that of Blaze's/Rayman's _Magenta_ Green and Magenta are separated by different shades of *_*Blue*_*
@@videogollumer Pulled up 2 pictures of Blaze The Cat & Rayman for contrast and comparison We are stepping on VERY thin color palette ice-breaker, so the comparisons are still true to an extend Sonic Rush and Rayman 3 are seperated by only 2-3 years....
@videogollumer You are right, the shirt of Blaze The Cat is **Dark Magenta** while Rayman's Shirt has similar shades of purple Which the point of lavender fur, yes, Blaze has the lavender fur... Rayman has blonde hair, and cream(?) color head My point, is that Blaze similarly to Rayman, wears: -Red-dish Accents (Red hood/ Red Headband, Red edges of the clothing) -White Gloves and Shoe front color -Purple Clothing (Purple hoodie, purple coat These are a few things that make them similar, by equivalence, Blaze/Rayman are guardians against C H A O S with funky (sample) beats along the way... Surge, Surge is a straight up on the side of the color picker against O R D E R, Rather than having some yellow on her shoes as a little bit of crazy, her outfit is all yellow, black, and some greys that go nicely with her green
@@Ratscallion_exe Interestingly, Surge and Kit have a similar theme going on with each other's counterparts. Surge's fur is chartreuse, while Kit's is aquamarine. Both are variations of green, which of course is made by mixing blue and yellow, the colors of Sonic and Tails' fur respectively. Chartreuse, Surge's fur color, is green mixed with yellow, Tails' fur color; while aquamarine, Kit's fur color, is green mixed with blue, Sonic's fur color.
They might need someone else to take over as the Phantom Rider, finding out that it’s Sonic could trigger a bad response from Surge and Kit. Plus Clutch and Mimic might get suspicious if Sonic is nowhere to be found.
Clutch is clearly going to take advantage of this and have Mimic pose as the phantom rider during the next race. should he find out that the phantom rider is sonic, he'll decide to frame him. the look on Lanolin's face when she realises that, in spite of Sonic accidently knocking off some riders, she's not been dealing with the villain, but actually helping the real villains this whole time.

Great comic the smiles on surge and kits faces were adorable sonic was awesome as the phantom rider and belle is back can’t wait for the next one 🤩🥰❤️💙💚🏂
You should read the end parts of the comic with the questions and art squad cuz they mention Sonic is going to have a crossover in the coming months! They said they’re a BIG threat so since they emphasized BIG, it might be Godzilla!
This issue was very great and Sonic is the Phantom Rider. And can I say that costume is literally cool. It reminds me of a Power Ranger and I hope they can use this costume in the games in the future. And I literally smiled from ear to ear when I saw Surge smile feeling and being like a hero, since I want her to feel good about herself. Maybe something like this could help her change her mind to come to the light and be a hero. That made my day! For Lanolin the shock on her face says it enough. She was so absorbed about catching this Phantom rider and upholding the rules to the point that she's forgetting about every other racers safety. And thank goodness for Tangle and her tail. And Jewel knows that something is up with Duo. I just hope in this arc Lanolin learns a lesson about friendship And to apologize to Sonic, Whisper, Silver, Tangle Amy, and Tails and practically everyone she might have gotten angry or offended. And maybe I want Lanolin to step down from her leadership role and get it to Tangle or Whisper since those two both have more experience than her and one of them was one of the original members of the Diamond Cutters. And also Duo getting a out in the public and for Tangle and Whisper to capture him.
@@loiiysailor1177 Exactly. And to just be more understanding and just think before she says or does anything. And hopefully she can learn this by the end of this arc. Because if not then people are just going to get more hurt by her actions and inactions.

4:39 - Love the smile Surge had! So happy her and Kit could experience a happy time😊 Hopefully this gives them a start on being redeemed. Guess we will see❤️ Can’t wait for Issue 71!
2:42 I chose my path, you chose the way of the hero and they found you amusing for a while the people of this city. But the one thing they love more than a hero... is to see a hero fail fall die trying. In spite of everything you've done for them eventually they will hate you.
I worry that something is going to happen to Surge that's going to drag her back down again. Either threw Clutch or something else that happens that gets the crowd to turn against Surge as the arc goes. Given how this IDW comics has had some heart retching moments... I worry.
@@SonicBoss1991 I bet the DiD fanart community are on a field day with that one. 😂 But in all seriousness, that was a huge "OH HELL NO" moment right there.

AND had one of her classic pre-Lost World outburst over it! Yeah, I know this is one of the reasons Amy haters exist; and she DID kinda shout at Tails, who had nothing to do with it; but if anyone is offended by it, they should cut her some slack. It's not like she was angry at Tails himself; she was just angry at the situation, and I frankly can understand that. It probably almost scared the pink out of poor Amy! Face hugs are unsettling, and not just from the eponymous Face Huggers from Alien who started the infamous trope. When Belle's hand jumped toward her face as she screamed, I was even thinking "Aw NAW, writers! Don't do that to Amy!".
@@videogollumer Good analysis. By the way, idk if you got my reply from Mike’s channel so I’ll repost here. I noticed you often used Hopper to prove why Lanolin is responsible for the current Diamond Cutters despite the grasshopper being an abusive @**. So I found a better example. In Epic the Musical, which is an adaptation of Homer’s the Odyssey, Eurylechus snaps at Odysseus after he sacrifices six men to the monster Scylla. “If you want all the power, you must carry all the blame.” Note that he was a chill and respectable guy who followed Odysseus’ orders up until this point.
@@hydrocityshark Wow, an adaptation of a Greek Mythological hero who is actually worse than the original. In the original poem, Scylla just drags the boat over and helps herself to six of Odysseus' men while they were trying to avoid her and Charybdis. As for Hopper, yes, he's a hardhearted bully; and he WAS blaming SOLELY Atta, neither knowing nor caring that it was Flik who accidentally knocked the offering over into the water; but his statement isn't wrong, in a sense. In a group, individuals can be at fault; but the leader is responsible for maintaining the group. Thus, at least in most cases, the leader shoulders at least a part of the blame. Frankly, Atta was partially at fault because she failed to account for the fact that Flik hadn't made it into the ant hill yet; thus, she left both him, and by extension the offering stone, unsupervised for just a moment. It COULD have made a difference; I'm not saying it would have for certain, but it could have. Back to Hopper, it applied to him too. Not only did his leadership decisions lead to his death, but he put his gang of grasshoppers at risk. Were they able to able to make it back to the sombrero or did they get caught in the rain leaving? We'll never know, but the risks were apparent; and it was all because Hopper couldn't tolerate anyone questioning of his authority, be they ant or grasshopper, and his decisions threatened both.
@@videogollumer In Epic’s defense though, he made the sacrifice because in this version Scylla’s lair was the only way out of the Underworld where Poseidon couldn’t reach his crew. At least that’s what a surprisingly honest Siren told him. Odysseus did this by reading her lips while having his ears filled with Beeswax so he handled that better than the original.
Despite Sonic tried to play bad part, he inevitably helping Surge and Kit getting respect. Which is a good thing in two actions. Maybe they might change a bit
@@xdomeman Nice try, he was talking about Eggman and Metal Sonic all that time; he was wrong about them, PAINFULLY wrong! The kid villains have redeeming qualities; the adult villains don't.
@@videogollumer the thing about Eggman was extremely weird as he never had that idea about Eggman to begin with. In the games, he's fully aware that Eggman wants to stick with his ideals, hence the lyrics of "Open Your Heart", so as to why Sonic wanted to suddenly redeem Eggman came completely out of left field which I fully blame the writing team for. Sonic has always been smarter than that. But here? He was right. Absolutely right. So shove off.
Sonic looks really cool as The Phantom Rider, bro about to bring the black energy force, very interesting to see Sure liking the the idea of being a Hero, look at that Lanolin is actually messing up with her leadership , she has a long way to go , still hate her defenders act like having experience has nothing to do with it, yes it does she messing up right now, love the idea Jewel is actually getting suspicious of Duo , it seems Evan is getting better with her writing and happened to Belle? Also funny part with Amy getting jump scares by Belles hand
Frankly, I liked Test Run. Sonic wasn't really an idiot jerk during that one; and the sight of true fear in his eye when Eggman tried to burn his two best friends, Tails and Amy, to death was proof that the Sonic I know and love was still in there, buried beneath his delusional Eggman apologism. All it took was for Eggman to threaten his friends' lives one too many times 21 Issues later to make him realize Dr. Humpty Dumpty was a lost cause.
I just now realized something. Belle is on one of the covers for issue 71. I didn’t realize that. I didn’t think she was going to be in this arc at all, so it was definitely a surprise to me to see her.
Also, the Phantom Rider really just made this the best book to come out from IDW in a long time. I honestly thought he was the coolest thing ever while reading this, so props to the writers on that one.
@@LynxWind I really liked the whole phantom rider thing, and I do have to admire Surge's smile at being called a hero and being genuinely touched, even though it was a fluke. that being said, I'd still like for us to focus on the diamond cutters at some point, especially Whisper who hasn't spoken all arc yet
Gasp! Who locked belle in the closet!? I wonder if she know that duo is actually Mimic and what’s going on hopefully. 🤞 also gotta say that armor egg man gave to sonic is pretty sick. I still don’t trust eggman as far as I can throw him. But you know “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” and all. Well if mimic and clutch do get exposed and an apology is owed to silver after what happen last time also maybe surge and kit can be offical heroes or anti heroes idk they are a bit of a conundrum.
Did they seriously just have Jet raise up his goggles at the last second so he can get affecte by that smokescreen? I swear, the garbage writing they keep giving to the Babylon Rogues is unforgivable.
