I mostly liked Sonic in scrapnik, the only thing I didn't like was him being so scaredy at first. Sonic is not the kind of character to be afraid even when he's completely beaten. Other than that I was really surprised and happy with his dialogue lol
"Best thing to come out of IDW Sonic" is like saying a fart is better than a diarrhea spurt coming out a rectum. But I do have to agree it's the least egregious thing they've put out thus far.
Spoiler Warning as per usual. This discussion was originally recorded on the 18th of January. As the call was on pretty short notice for me I failed a bit to prepare and collect my thoughts altogether, but I did have two more positives. One being, although brief, I loved the little bit of bromance between Sonic and Mecha Sonic MK2 during Issue 2, the ship art that came after that issue was a feast, they are cute. Additionally, loved the little detail in Issue 4 that looks like Mecha Sonic MK2’s getting emotional with a teary red light-bulb eyes look, is a cute detail. BTW, I didn’t mind the OVA callback, though it does sound in my tone that I’m trying to make it seem bad because even X did it, if anything I just found it funny, not bad just funny, but truth be told, I did like the callback, compared to other references such as how Frontiers did them, I didn’t roll my eyes or stare in bewilderment, thought it was done pretty well. While the main feeling I’m taking away from the arc is that “while flawed, it’s nowhere near as flawed as everything else” = good, I did truly genuinely enjoy my time reading this mini series and I look forward to reading whatever Daniel Barnes has next in store for us Sonic fans.
@@laviarray I believe New Dawn Horizon’s asking if you’d like to see Infinite return as an antagonist in the comics? (Even if Flynn wrote that he died offscreen in the new sonic encyclopaedia but that’s so stupid.)
