Then again, I'm old enough that I was still a kid when Sonic 2 did first come out. And back then, it blew my mind in every way that Sonic Mania does nowadays. This game is just BEAUTIFUL!

Thank you for bringing up the lack of zone transitions. Apart from the first two zones, only new zones got them and most of them are just "Sonic got warped away by the Phantom Ruby". Even the act transitions got a little lackluster, like how Press Gardens act 1 boss makes a blinding flash to hide the teleport into act 2, then you're forced to walk right and the screen locks you out of the boss arena when the act starts. The game has a lack of consistency that makes it feel like it wanted to be just like S3&K with its style but its unfinished and didn't get the last bit of polish needed to bring it all together.

With that Sonic plush at the beginning, I actually had (or have, heck if I know where it is) and for me I'm pretty sure it was the low demonic glitchy voice due to the batteries since you can't replace the batteries since there's no place to open up the plush for some reason. Either way, it was fun to mess with.

Why is everybody forgetting sonic gen and colours seriously Im sick of it and there a lot more great sonic games that have came out in the last 23 years

You know, I had that problem with talking teddies. I had a build-a-bear that is (maybe) over 5 years old. And it can't say something that is "I love you!" I used it once and it really and read that again, REALLY freaked me out.
