Sonic 06 could’ve been one of the greatest sonic games of all time if Sega didn’t rush it for a 2006 holiday release. Thank you ChaosX for showing the potential that this game had.

It was fundamentally screwed. Even if Sega didn't rush them, they wouldn't been able to deliver, the core design of the game was already broken. Sonic team wasted their dev time by adding 15 different game mechanics, multiple side missions, play gimmicks, rather than to fix the fundamental core of the game. I bet even if they had an entire year to work they would have made a sh1t game, remind yourself that nobody forced them to make Tails and Knuckles and Rouge and Amy and E-123 Omega playable.

@@streptococo4735 The core design was not broken, P-06 proves that. Sonic 06 had great level design, it’s just unappreciated because the retail release was a glitchy alpha build that wasn’t meant to be sold. If the dev team had more time to finish the side-characters, then they probably would have been fun to play as just like they are in P-06.

Real talk though: I always thought 06,out of all the mainline travesties (Shadow,06,Secret Rings,Boom and Forces) had the most potential for a remake,and this project truly shows it It may not be able to fix the issues with the story,but gameplay wise? Holy sheesh,this is soooooo much better and I'm really looking forward to the next updates It is just so damn sad this isn't how the actual game is,same goes for the Forces reimagined mod

I loved the story of the game it was different and dark mephilis was on of the best villains ever so powerful he was the only villain who actually killed sonic and I loved the story of silver the hedgehog his gameplay is so good his power Is new and not just jumping on enemies it's a shame we don't have other games we can control other characters all new sonic games are just based on sonic playing as other characters was good but now we don't have them

Sege should definitely hire choas x he can remake the sonic games perfect there are other sonic games I think they deserve a second chance like sonic adventure 1 and 2, sonic heroes, sonic and black knight these games can shine again with better graphics and a better gameplay this project 06 was one of the best remakes of the game history

@@mahdishariat3688 You don't understand how jobs work then. Video game development isn't that different from a regular desk job, especially at SEGA. I thought it was common knowledge at this point how badly they've treated employees. Stealth even wrote a story about how the money he got from Mania was used to pay his mom's medical bills, and apparently people forget that Twitter thread he wrote last year about about the guidelines he had to follow working on Origins, and how SEGA changed some of what was originally put in there, because corporate always has the final say. Hobbies are only hobbies for a reason. Many people make the mistake of trying to build a career off of it, and it backfires horribly to the point where people will start hating it. There are countless stories like this online, so anyone with the bare minimum of knowledge on what it's actually like to be a game developer knows how absurd it is to think you'll easily be set for life.
