Well, I hate it because it's a rushed game and a ripoff of the Mario Kart series. Believe or not, Mario Kart was originally going to be called Super Mario Kart R. Those names are too a like for it to just be a coincidence.

Shelby Ernster To be honest most sonic games were rushed to meet a deadline, even sonic 2 was rushed for chistmas and had a lot of levels scrapped, the saturn version had pretty bad controls but the pc version wasn't bad, and i dont see how its a mario kart rip off other than the radiant emerald stage

LittleProgPlace it's not very fitting because it's like 1/3 chance of sunny only, then 1/3 chance rainy and 1/3 chance snow. the map isn't even happy and cheery it's just generic so the song is random and feels out of place

The movement was absolute shit. But yea, I also enjoyed this game as a kid & loved the music. The horrible movement in the end made this game last longer because you had to get good at controlling it, which added on to the game for me, though for most people it would be a complete turn off.

Amy, Robotnik, and Tails Doll all hover over water. Metal Sonic & Metal Knuckles can jump on the water's surface, which makes them better for dealing with water than their counterparts. Super Sonic basically has the best of everything besides turning. He can also fly across water.

I liked it as a kid and it holds a special place in my heart due to that, and if you're used to it it's fun. The problem is that the controls are pretty dated, they're basically tank controls which is pretty awkward when it's a running game, and the turn speed is really slow. If you can get past the awkward controls and steering, the game doesn't have much content. Only 5 stages and 10 characters is pretty bad, and the whole game is finished in 40 minutes by most people. it was a Sonic game at a time when the Saturn desperately needed one and the main Sonic game, Sonic Xtreme, was cancelled. It was built of a Formula 1 engine and fairly rushed, hence the lack of content. At the time it wasn't that bad since 3D games were new and tank controls were still the most common way of controlling your character in a 3D environment, and consoles had just gotten the ability to play music other than 16 bit, so having actual music and not just video game music was an interesting experiment. A lot of the stuff in the game was just a product of its time and a sign of a company trying to figure out what works in a new era of gaming.

He is techinically exploiting by enabling snows, making water (which is supposed to slow you down) turned onto ice , giving you advantage

You do have to consider that these tracks were made for more than just racing. There's the tokens and Chaos Emeralds to find, and you have to go far out of your way to get them. I think the course designers were more focused on making these courses elaborate than they were on making them challenging for a straight-up race, which admittedly ended up hurting the replay value.

DarenSankari Probably because 1. some of the stages look unfinished 2. Turning around Is like controlling a tank 3. Almost all of the characters are clones 4. Getting the chaos emeralds and the challenger races could cost you the race. 5. Most of the time you don't even need to be ob the track and that's a double edged sword. 6. The characters are extremely unbalanced 7. Racing as or against super sonic is automatically a one sided battle 8. Anyone who wants to play as amy will most likely lose 9. When/if you do unlock super sonic it doesn't tell you how to play as him 10. The unlockable stage could give someone a seizure Fun fact: if two people want to be the same character, move the cursor over to said character, hold L and press A.
