You gotta tell us how you did it! I'm too confused on how to beat this! Speed is one thing, and then it's easy to fall off of the track whether it's trying to drift or something. I swear I press both left stick and R trigger to drift but I don't think I'm drifting properly enough so I don't slow down too much. Do I have to slide then drift or am I gonna drift and slow down no matter what? There's times where I don't seem to understand how the air system works , I just keep retrying and try not to waste my boost, but even when I try not to use it, the air just runs out. Whether I reduce the amount of boost, it'll eventually slow down, but I know there's situations where I have to boost. Sometimes I use the stick when I'm going super fast and I start losing air cause Sonic starts sliding ridiculously fast enough that I can't control it, and in Babylon Garden I accidentally slide without me knowing how I did and ended up falling off from the track instead of jumping on the big turbulence that's part of the track. Somehow I was lucky to beat all of Heroes Story missions, but this one, this one's different. I don't know how I'll beat it, but I'm sure one day I'll beat it. But I really need to know how the mechanics work, cause the controls are not enough. I need to know how to properly get to first place without any racer beating me easily or slowing down and running out of air. Cause when I slow down, my boost barely gives me speed sometimes. I think it has something to do with the air itself, it's just so confusing. Ramps was easy for me to learn and still could do better, but the parts I struggle the most is drifting and going fast to be in first place. One of my best ways is to collect rings and level up, go through ramps when I can, and when I'm going slow, if there's a pit around, I go there and press A to give me a little boost sometimes. I want to try different methods too, but it's kinda hard as controlling Sonic or other characters at high speed or low air is too difficult. But I've been roughly improving my skills in the game, and it's not easy, but I'm getting there. I could use help however.
Well..... I've returned to let you know that I managed to beat the race after several retries. So yes, I have beat the level which what it felt impossible, but time, practice, and skill was all I needed to beat the last level of the game. Now I got some Babylon Story to beat now.
I was holding back tears trying to beat this level whenever I was winning a robot hit me and I lost all my rings and fell off the map or I’d slip off the turn
i remember when i played the game i thought that this was the last level because it was hard but I was wrong. So what I did is that I practiced on this map and i got so good at it.
In hindsight this track would be great in Sonic & All Stars Transformed. The Car/Plane transformation would be useful as the track shoots itself to pieces with the defense system. But then again they already had 2 floating island levels that fell apart during the race so i guess that would be a bit too much.
I beat this when I was 7 back in 2006. It took many tries and lot's of rage on that last sharp turn. I loved the soundtrack too, I actually got it saved to my phone XD
Jet at 7th place... eat dust. I get so awkward and tense right before the sharpest turn that i always either end up falling or i get passed. been working on this track for a couple hours. pro tip: use the second rail - the one right before that turn - if youre low on air (50% under), it replenishes it before you have to make the u-turn. another pro tip... do not drink coffee while/if youre struggling on this track... the *pure stress* from the track on top of the coffee gave me terrible stomach pain. it did help with my performance though (even though i still havent won... running this on Dolphin. idk how i did it in middle school... must have been skill and luck) so it's up to priorities lol
more skill based than ZG, that's for sure. "I don't have to worry about people boost attacking me" or "I don't have to worry about running out of fuel" is a common excuse for why this game is supposedly bad when in reality if you learn to get good, it happens way less frequently.
What I think is pretty cool overall about the Lore on the Babylon Rogues, on the surface we are lead to believe that they are the descendent so of Genies, but you inspect further with both Babylon Garden and Digital Dimension, you realize there’s a lot more to them on the surface. It comes full circle in Zero Gravity.
My first time playing through this game and I'm about to rip my hair out at this stage I came here hoping I could see if there were any secrets to doing it well 😭
note to this you cant and i repeat YOU CANT! miss a rail in hard difficulty otherwise you will lose air, basically you had to do a perfect run if you wish to complete everything in this game
I remember all the times i cried from frustration. Jet wasn’t even the biggest threat. It was those mf robot ai’s!! I remember i was a inch from the finish like and losing but i used the boost at the very last second and won and screamed !!
This was one of the hardest level in the game, but goddamn was it fun to blitz through it once you got a hang of all the mechanics the level expects you to master! Not to. Mention, the music slaps and perfectly hits the vibe iof what playing this level feels like. This is why Babylon garden was the level that cemented Sonic riders as one of my favorite racing games...
Makes me think of being in the winter I played this stage over the winter but I could never make it but the song makes me think of being on a rainy day corresponding to clouds ❤❤
One time on Metal City I did a computer jump like I was attacking someone and the attacked finished on a ramp so when I jumped I didnt have to hold I just flew in the air with a tap of the jump button
