Well, in the OG Riders he can use each trait independently, which optimise the speed and the ring gathering, if you manage to have more than 80 rings, you can easily keep a good pace, his boost can stun and just run over the others with a good trade off from 20 of your current rings but each hit costs 10 more, and to be fair you don't even need to boost with super sonic, unless you want to be a dick with the others, and you start already with 30 rings, and drift will use the double of the current usage of rings, which is near 1/s, also you can't be harmed and neither lose rings when attacked in Super Sonic stage As you know, ring management is the major point of Super Sonic, if you know well enough the track, you will be perfectly fine with only the ones you gather through it, and not even needing to obtain the 100 rings monitor But they nerfed way too much the Chaos Emeralds in Zero Gravity,you already starts without a grasp of ring, and the only desirable upgrade at first is the electric shield, since the other upgrade isn't useful at all by how much you pay for it, and some stages don't even have enough rings to keep up with your needs, and in this case, is not about management anymore, if you have the need to rely on monitors to give atleast a bit of rings, in the OG means you aren't playing as efficient as you think, but in ZG? means that the stage wasn't conceived for this character, atleast not for the current version of Super Sonic in the game, also you can only relies in two types of shortcuts, the ones exclusively for characters that is in offensive state (which is rare as fuck I would say) you know, those springs and whatnots, and if you somehow managed to not burn your entire supply of rings with the locked offensive state (once you reach 50 rings) or didn't used gravity at all, you can use power type shortcuts, but those aren't as good as they was in the OG, and even there they aren't too much effective, unless you already know how to use them in the best way possible, and I don't even want to mention the gravity warping abilities with super sonic, it is just, _sad_, you know what could make ZG Super Sonic 10 times better? simply not making the gravity eat your rings like nothing, Super Sonic can already fly, so there was no need to spend rings with the gravity dive or gravity control, you know, making the main mechanic of the game totally at hand by not spend anything while in super sonic state would be amazing and also would give a good enough reason about why you passed through all those grindy and boring missions to obtain it, but instead they decided to turn the ultimate life form (not Shadow) into your everyday power-type gear, but with way more extra steps And I do enjoy ZG, not as much as OG, but still a nice playthrough, the ZG mission mode was as grindy as OG, but you still can have fun with (mainly the rail, air ride and ring collection missions) but what they did with Super Sonic in the game is quite offensive, and seemed like they shoehorned him right in the last stage of development, when everything else was nearly done

I cannot believe I just completed all the missions on expert mode, which was a tedious nightmare, just to receive a garbage, needed supersonic. I never achieved supersonic in the other sonic games, I thought since this was my chance as an adult reliving my childhood I could get the best gear in the game. No. It's the worst way to play the game. By the time you get 60 rings and go into flying mode, its the third lap and you realize how boring the game is without being able to take shortcuts. Oh, the runner's shortcuts? You mean the worst ones in the game? Is that how i'm supposed to play supersonic? I wanted to avoid spoiling his abilities, but now I deeply wish I read this comment before I went through the nightmare hell that was all the missions on expert mode. Im sorry for my rant, just wanted to vent and possibly warn another person before making my mistake.

@@maxr1612 yeah lol. to give more context and detail, the people I've watched before who've done full commentated play throughs of this game mentioned that, Super Sonic is horrible in this game, and that they nerfed him from the last game. when actually, its more like they balanced him, but also changed him in a way that introduces more challenge

I think I remember someone saying that the only reason the course is called Crimson Crater is because of the sand surrounding the structure. Even though the color of the sand is not even close to actual crimson but I guess it still flies.

You can also use the springs if you get a powerup that makes you run on foot. The one that makes it so that you can attack the other racers. I used to purposely suck at the tracks as a kid just so i could see what the shortcuts in each track were

@@gwbt7184 There's another way you can do that and not suck. Use the gear called Big Bang! It may gain GP at half the rate the other gears do (only one of two gears that has this downside, with the other being the Rainbow) and it may have abysmal stats (1 each on Speed, Dash and Power; and 3 on Curve), but as soon as you amass a total of 100 GP, the gear immediately spends 50 GP to grant you Attack mode! And this isn't even once per race! As such, you'll dominate most races if you've gotten really good at the game, and especially at this gear, but the Big Bang can heavily punish beginners, to the point that if you fall off the track even once, you've pretty much lost the race.

@@sonicdml4175 In ZG, characters don't come with types. Instead the shortcut types depend on gears. Some come with shortcuts already enabled, some get types through gear change and others don't even have shortcuts. In SS's case the Chaos Emerald is typeless until SS enters boost mode which enables Power Type.
