I won't lie, this game was brutal. But it was still a good game, great music and the visuals were impressive for a handheld.

Yea the rubberband AI was a bitch in this game you pretty much had to perfectly hit all the ramps, boosts, and rails just to keep the AI from rubbanding and maintain a good distance (from my experience). Luckily for me I adapted pretty quickly and I started to beat it with ease

I didn't have trouble with first battles but the Metal Sonic battle one is so unnecessarily hard.

The thing about this game is If you get used to it it'll be easy Like if u beat the game once then leave it alone for another 4 years when u play it again it'll be easy af

played it and the sequel just because I really loved sonic, also big fan of Silver back then my number 1 fave, but it was so fukin hard at times i rememever raging and my grandpa told me stop playing that shit if you are gonna behave like that, I miss my grandpa lol.. 😢

I've actually played Rivals 2 on my PSP before and beat the whole game after lots of trial and error. Never played nor saw gameplay of the first until now. Edit 9:17 06 actually *is* canon, it's just that since the universe was reset, its events technically never took place.

I love Loki's intro's I'd want to see his own anime intro one day if possible and theme song

What really bothered my about rivals is that they never explain if the ifrit has anything to do with iblis despite them both being giant lava monster that ruin the future... OH wait I was thinking of a different song game for psp

Went back to playing Sonic Rivals 2 recently and oh my God the rubberbanding in that game is just terrible. You get hit by a stupid fucking item (sorry for swearing) that's it you've lost you can't catch up. You have to be perfect from start to finish otherwise the A.I is just going to appear in front of you without overtaking, it's just horrible. Like before I had to stop playing it because of the rubberbanding.

in my opinion this game has the better multiplayer expirience in sonic games (along with Sonic Riders) so sad i never got to play a real multiplayer match (no friends in that time) xDD

I didn't have trouble with the ai when I played this game as a kid, everything, EXCEPT METAL SONIC. That dude almost made my races impossible not only that, but bugs or missing parts from the races, especially night carnival, Otherwise pretty sick game, I wish they remaster or just make sonic rivals 3, that would be interesting

I had a PSP (completely disrespected one of the goated portable consoles smh), but I never played Rivals. I remember searching to see if there were any Sonic PSP games and saw it. I wanted it but my sister LOST my PSP so there was no point getting it 😔

When i download this game back i was trash and then weeks later i'm good at it

The Sonic Rivals games for the psp are essentially poor attempts at Sonic R. No wonder these games along with Nights: Journey of Dreams are the final projects of Segastudios USA before being reabsorbed back into Sonic Team Japan in early 2008.
